HI ALL!!! Deb I am glad to hear your SIL will be ok! I have wondered about the OnStar thing since I test drove a car outfitted with it earlier this year Peetie really cool to see you "in person" here on my screen! And with that cool eagle shirt ![]() Laurie Sorry to hear about your friends hurting your feelings. I hope it's something that was just a misunderstanding or stumble on someone's part and all will be OK Penny I like the cedar waxwing picture. I was watching a small flock of birds out front at my friend's house this weekend - waxwings and sparrows. They all moved as one and flew out of the tree to the ground, then back up, then down, then up, down and up - and kept doing it!! I have no idea why they just didn't stay put longer at either spot! SANDIE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! |

Kathie, I think they usually just paddle around in the water and ride on Mom's back when they get tired. I really don't think they can fly until they get those feathers when they are much older ![]() Topa, your grandchildren are just adorable...love the jungle gym and tree hugger 's

I'm wondering the same thing about those little goslings. They are usually in the water within hours of being hatched. That is the strangest thing. Maybe they areN'T geese. . . Maybe they are GEAGLES.

Just found this on Wikipedia.... During the second year of their lives, Canada Geese find a mate. They are monogamous, and most couples stay together all of their lives. If one is killed, the other may find a new mate. The female lays 3–8 eggs and both parents protect the nest while the eggs incubate, but the female spends more time at the nest than the male. Known egg predators include Arctic Foxes, Northern Raccoons, Red Foxes, large gulls, Common Raven, American Crows and bears. During this incubation period, the adults lose their flight feathers, so they cannot fly until their eggs hatch after 25–28 days. ![]() I guess these birds are 'new' to the reproduction situation  Edit to add: Canada Geese are rarely preyed on, but (beyond humans) can be taken by Coyotes, Red Foxes, Gray Wolves, Snowy Owls, Great Horned Owls, Golden Eagles and, most often, Bald Eagles. |

So both male and female geese, loose their flight feathers?? then none of them will survive. How will they eat if they are all in the nest and can't fly??? OH my gosh.

Thanks Jean. I've heard from one of them, she's emailed an apology. I haven't responded back yet. I think I need a day or two so I don't say anything stupid out of anger. All will be well.

Deb - Such good news about your SIL. You are to be commended on your "Detective Skills" the way you finally reached the hospital to get an update on her condition. "Law & Order" needs you  . Cruzer mojo came through again. Cheryl - Sorry to hear you are having back pain. Take it easy and hoping you will feel a lot better tomorrow.
