Hello eagle fans and friends, I am glad to report that all eight Catalina chicks are doing great, some of them are already starting to grow feathers while the younger ones still wear their ‘fluffy’ all-down-feather plumage. Both our West End (WE) and Two Harbors (TH) cams have been giving us problems lately. We are trying to figure out what’s wrong with them but in the mean time, we will be posting weekly videos taken from the direct feeds at the first receiver sites. (We’d like to do it more often but it takes around 5 hours just to get there, record video and head back). This is the WE nest yesterday ![]() TH nest yesterday too ![]() And of course Pinnacle Rock nest ![]() The PR family ![]() ![]() Seal Rocks nest ![]() And Twin Rocks nest ![]() The TR family ![]() This weekend we experienced a quite different weather from the previous weekend. The temperature dropped significantly on Thursday and Friday on top of having a thick marine layer that doesn’t allow us to watch our nests that are hundreds off feet away from our observation spots. ![]() Cont... |

Yesterday, we also worked on Pimu’s and Pee’ ech’s cage divider netting (which is why we got home so late and did not have time to finish the update). Pimu has put some holes in the old one and we were concerned that one of these windy days she would actually be able to cross over to Pee’ ech’s enclosure. They would probably be fine with each other for a while but knowing Pimu’s dominant personality, we don’t want to find out. The new netting ![]() While we worked on it, I took the Pee’ ech outside of the cage and put her on her outside perch. She didn’t like it very much so she found a very nice stump to perch on. ![]() We will try to find something similar to this to put in her cage since she really seemed to enjoy perching there. ![]() Here is she next to her brand-new netting ![]() Enjoy nest watching and see you next time, Steffani |

Glad to hear all our Catalina babies are doing so well! Thank you so much for taking the extra time to post the direct-feed videos - silly web cams! Pee'ech/Heidi is safe from Pimu for a while longer after all your hard work too so you've had a busy week. Here's hoping the weather improves in the next few days. Thanks for all you do, Steffani!

Awesome update, videos & pictures, Steff! Worth waiting for! Glad to hear the chicks are all doing so well. Loved the poop shot by the PR chicklet and was surprised to be able to hear the PR parent calling from so far away. Also loved you zooming in & out to show us how far away you took the videos from too. That picture of the marine layer gives us another insight to what you deal with on the island! Thanks for everything!

STEFFANI--Thank you for the TR and PR videos especially! Always, always love seeing Heidi--and Pimu too when you have her in your lens. Heidi probably would enjoy a different perch , along with the platform. She kind of showed her likes when you had her outside and you zeroed in on it. Sure glad the normal weather patterns are returned for you all and well, fog goes with the normal patterns too at times. |

Dear Steffani, Great update, as usual. I was happy to get an update on Pee'ech and Pimu, too. Wow, you are just a month or so away from getting ready for all the banding! The little dust mops sure grow up fast into beautiful young eagles, don't they? Thanks for all that you and Peter do fo these beautiful birds-- and for us, too. What a thrill to be able to watch these fabulous birds be returned to life on these beautiful islands! Lauri |

Steffani - Thanks for a great update! Your photos and videos are outstanding. As we don't have cams on all the nests it is nice to be kept up-to-date with all the eagle families. Thanks again, you are the best.
