PR nest and chick![]() K65, the PR male ![]() Here’s a short video of the PR nest ![]() Over the weekend we worked on setting up the audio for the TH cam ( I have a very interesting anecdote about the day we spent at TH but I’ll share that next week) and also working on the TR cam. Fishing, feeding the captive birds, making wing markers and many more office duties are also part of what we did this past week. We will be banding the Twin Rocks chicks on Saturday and the Pinnacle Rock chick on Sunday so we should have another very exciting update for you next week! Stayed tuned, Steffani |

Again, fantastic photos and videos of an event that is probably now blase (in a good sense) to you all, climbing steep slopes, catching and hanging onto wild raptors! Still, its very thrilling for all of us... always will be. Look forward to the next few days events too (dedicated to be working on the weekend too!)

Thanks for the wonderful update Steffani. I didn't see any mention about their genders based on their measurements. I did hear mention of "he's talking to you" on the video. My guesses... K87 is a female and K91 is a male. I am so happy to read that all of the other nests continue to do well and look forward to those banding videos next week. Thanks to everyone on the IWS crew for all you do and for sharing these magnificent eagles with us. |

Very nice video of the banding. I know I speak for all of the "viewers" when I say how very exciting it was for us. Nice shot of the eagle/plant we were all wondering about below where the banding took place. Just curious though, it seemed to take longer than anticipated from removal from the nest to replacement. Did you run into problems? |

We actually banded both TH chicks as females. The blood tests will confirm it. |

Dear Steffani, Oh, well done! Great job on both the banding AND the report! The pictures of the feet and talons are amazing. What a great resource for teachers out there-- to be able to show their students what those feet REALLY look like up close! I'm glad you had a beautiful day for the banding (all this "June Gloom" fog is getting me down!)-- I greatly enjoyed the trip "with you" and the report. Thanks for taking all the time to put this together!! Lauri |

FANTASTIC!! SUPER update! What an exciting job but scary, too, with the places you have to go to get to the nests! Especially with all that CACTUS! I wouldn't be able to do it just cause of the cactus  I am terrified of cactus! Silly, I know, but I fell backwards into a bed of cactus when I was little so hate the stuff now. Anyway, thanks soooo much for sharing this with us! |
