So as you all know already, Amanda and I headed out to help with the banding on Catalina Island of the Seal Rocks nest and the Two Harbors nest. It was great to be able to help out and also an adventure getting to the nests.

We then headed back out to Santa Cruz on Saturday where we were joined by Rosanne. We didn't have much time on the islands to look for eagles because we were having a lot of mechanical issues with our ATVs and the boat.

We were able to get the boat out one day finally and spotted K-10 and K-26 flying high above Chinese harbor. The weather was too foggy and the seas to choppy to follow them or get a photograph. It looked like they were headed back to Prisoner's or Pelican harbor.

Rosanne was the one who saw the most eagles and shrikes this past weekend, so we'll have to thank her for getting all the shots to post this week. She headed out to Fraser and was able to find A-24 and A-40 both perched on the cross again.

She checked on the Sauces pair too and also found them together on one of their favorite places to perch.

And on the way out, she even got to see this island fox! Overall, a great wildlife day for Rosanne!

Rosanne and Suzanne headed out to Catalina today to help out with the banding of the Twin Rocks chicks, so I'm sure you will hear about their adventures in Steffani's next update. And hopefully Cedrick will have some more eagle sightings to report next week.

Thank you so much for your wonderful update and pictures. Sorry the weather didn't cooperate with photographing K26 & K10. I appreciate all you do for our eagles, and I hope we have young ones next year in our SCI and SRI nests! Again, thanks for all you do!

STEPHANIE--THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE :><:

Rosanne pictures are LOVERLY!

We loved seeing pictures of you and Amanda at the TH Banding--adorable photo of you all holding K91 & K87.

The descent to SR sure was a hairy one---the nest is at a beautiful location--especailly if you have wings. :D

Wishing Rosanne and Suzanne an equally enjoyable visit to Catalina and that the climbs down and back to the nests all go safely for one and all!

Dear Stephanie,

Thanks for the update. Glad you enjoyed "getting out of town" and heading over to Catalina for the bandings there.

I'm glad that you guys are out there, keeping an eye on the eagles... I hope next year's chick season is a bit kinder than this year's and that the gang will be coming out YOUR way to band chicks on Santa Cruz!
