On each of the nests, there is one eaglet that spends a lot of time standing and looking around, while the other eaglet spends that same time laying and snoozing. That is a big difference in behavior. What would be the cause or reason? |

It is probably not the same chick lying down all the time. It could be the one that got fed the most the last meal is the one lying down and digesting. One chick could also be acting as a lookout for danger and prey deliveries. Up until 8-9 weeks of age they tend to spend 50+% of their time lying down. That decreases drastically in the last few weeks in the nest. |

Actually, on both nests it was one chick that spent more time standing than the other....and it does seem that the one that gets fed the most spends more time laying and the one that got fed less (91 on TH for example) does more standing. |
