Sharon - I sure hope Laurie gets better soon. Sounds like an awful surgery, especially after she's already been through so much. :Hugs:

OUCH....Hula Bird. Poor baby. I believe the ulcer part....she worries herself sick all the time over stuff. With her Mom passing I suppose she is concerned for her Dad. But Vickie what kind of surgery will they be doing. It concerns me after the other surgery she has had. Prayers and love to her and DH. She has had so much in her little life.

Well, the sunshine has mostly disappeared from the patio so I came back in.

Lala the electricity shut off is for them to do preventative maintenance I guess so if the electricity goes off unexpectantly it will take longer to fix. I guess the kids will have to go to the BEACH!!! :D or some other fun outside activity for the day. As for the work at homes....they might have to take the day off and go to the BEACH. I'm actually more concerned for the people that own restaurants and shops around the marina. I don't know how widespread this is to be. People were just skitzy over having their electricity off at night. Especially after that murder down here. It's pretty dark without street lights etc and the possibility of criminal activity was possibly increased. I have a feeling it won't be off for that long. If they start at 5am it shouldn't take them forever..... :X:

Does anyone know someone around here that can cut glass? I want to put my glass shelves in that cabinet I bought but the pieces of glass are too big. They lost the proper glass shelves that went with it.

Laurie's surgery was yesterday. I talked to the doctor last night and then went there to wait until she was sent to her room.  She's in a lot of pain again and nauseous.  Don't know how long she will be there she hopes til tomorrow.  I talked to her before lunch and she sounded better but she still hasn't had anything but jello and apple juice since yesterday at 7 a.m.

The doctor said the bone had started to heal within the last couple weeks.  He hesitated to go in but there was bone spur and the nerves were stretched and one was attaching itself to that bone spur.  He took out the plate, 15 screws one of which the a**hole doctor put in her elbow!!!!!!!!!, cut off the spur and sewed her backup without using a new plate.

I too wish Laurie the best!!! While not a problem with my arm and wrist i can feel her pain from my shattered clavicle and the broken thigh with its year of hell.

Hmm the screw into the elbow sounds like gross mal practice to me while i dont like mal practice suits for alot of the things doctors are sued for that are frivalous, this sounds to me as if its a serious screw up by the doctor. Given the pain and suffering shes gone through even i would not criticize suing for this. Especially given the pain and slow healing this may have caused her to endure. I was rather annoyed when my orthopedic surgeon said off the record that the surgeon should have used shorter screws when they put the rod into my thigh.

As for the nausea, i am 99 and 99/100% sure that is from whatever opiates they have her on for the pain. I KNOW as the need lowers for the narcotic pain meds her nausea will go away.

Hoping she has a Super SPEEDY RECOVERY!!

Just wanted the Cruzers to know, Hulabird is in the hospital and very ill. She's in terrible pain, and they hope to do surgery tomorrow. Apparently, she has a bleeding ulcer and a hernia. Please send good thoughts for her, she really needs it. <3

OMG Summer... Thanks for telling us....

Some hardware stores will cut window glass to the measurements you give them. I bet even home despot can do it or even the lcoal tru valu or ace is the place hardware stores.

Other ,off the tip of my miind ,would perhaps be a framing store who frames pictures. They may have the necessary equipment for larger sized panes of glass.
