Deb - looks like Smurfette has really become a California girl. I imagine the story on Animal Planet of Spirit and Skye will be shown for some time yet - it's a great way to get lots of attention for the rescue of eagles. Peetie - Hope you are feeling better today. Topa - Had never looked at the wedding web site for the SB Zoo - there are indeed many weddings thru out the summer - biggest was the daughter of family that gives lots of monetary and personal (serve on the board) support - one of their projects is being the main supporter of the lions - they had a tent that was the shape of the Sidney opera house - could see the tent from 101. Didn't know the cost before - do now - WOW! You must be counting down the weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds until you see your son, DIL, and grandchildren - so happy for you - they sure have grown and are beautiful. Penny - video of Tiny fledging - beautifully done - so precious. Xi Lan has sure turned out to be a very clever little boy - figured out how to hide biscuits from mom. Winnipeg Festival look like lots of fun, fun, fun. Lala - great info on the reduced rate in the evening on the water park - Austin and Sierra really enjoyed going there - esp. when they could drown grandma under the waterfall. Sharon - So sorry Laurie has had to go through so much - sounds like she finally has a doctor who knows what he is doing and will make sure she will get the rehab she needs. Peppermin - always think about going to the concert at Chase Palm Park - still haven't made it - maybe will try for next Thurs. - music I grew up on - the 50's. Penny - poor Bandit has so little room on that nest. Hulabird - so very sorry to hear you are in the hospital and having to have surgery - will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers - may your recovery be quick and complete.

Topa your plumeria is so beautiful and I imagine it smells heavenly! Our motor on our A/C went out yesterday evening. Thankfully my husband went to highschool with a guy who has an A/C repair business. He sent his son over first thing and he is working on it now before the temps climb to the 100's. Hope he can get it fixed!

Lala wonderful picture of the roadrunner! I have a pair of roadrunners that hang out in my yard, but I can never get a picture of them. Everytime I see them I run for my camera, but they are always too quick for me. I didn't realize that the tail feathers were blue! |

I talked to Vina yesterday. She's doing as well as can be expected after her surgery. They've already had her up and walking! Ouch! Should be in the hospital a couple more days before they move her to a rehab facility for 10 days. She said to thank everyone for their prayers....and to keep 'em coming.

Jann. Are you feeling better? I didn't know about Vina having surgery. Was this a hip or knee replacement?Boy, there sure are a lot of Cruzers who are having a really tough time with their health issues all of a sudden

Good thoughts going out to Vina, Laurie, Jann. Hulabird is still in the hospital and had surgery yesterday, and another one today. She needs all the Cruzer power we can muster up. Wishing you all a great day.

Lala, love the roadrunner. When my dad lived in Lake Havasu, they had them all over they place. Those little rascals would eat raw hamburger out of my dad's hand. I definitely got my love of critters from both my parents. Thanks for sharing his picture! Silly as it sounds, it brings back great memories of my dad. |
