I understand your mother's thinking, Lala. DB got my mother a walker and she refused to use it...continued to get along with her cane. Then he mentioned that he'd get a wheelchair if she needed one and I think his ears were burning for days after she got finished with him about that. We, eventually, wound up with the walker and passed it on to a very old neighbor. One day as DH and I drove up to our house we saw her stumble off the curb and into the street...she wasn't even supposed to be out of the house. The walker she had was pathetic...metal was all battered up after her fall so we gave her the unused one we had from my mother. What a difference in walkers!!

I am not sure if i may have to suddenly depart for a few days. I am getting an uneasiness regarding my elderly father in florida. Normally his cell phone is always on and i get a normal voice message when it isnt . I have not been able to get him either on the land line. I am beginning to be very uneasy and cringe when my phone rings thinking that it will be "that call". So if i am awol suddenly , i may be likely en route to the steamy south in florida. I hope my worries are for naught though :X:

George have the police do a well check if you don't have a neighbors phone to call and check on him. I'm sure he'd love to see you tho....maybe it's a good time to go for a visit!

Cat I'm going fishing tomorrow too. We will be fishing off the pier tho. It would be fun to go camping at Casitas I think. But I don't have camping gear anymore. But the pier is fine. I just bought a bunch of new stuff to go try out. Better put that in the car before I forget come to think of it. DD will meet me there.

Christopher are you going to go somewhere this weekend to celebrate your birthday?

Hope you soon make contact with your father, Geroge. "That call" is always in the back of your mind when we live far away from a parent...been there, done that. DB and I were lucky in that we had a family next door to my mother and they really looked out for her...we'd even given them the key to her house...exchanged phone numbers all around and in the end it was the best thing we could have done. Hope everything turns out OK.

For those who are still looking for more eagle fixes, there's still lots going on on the Hancock nests - Hope on Hornby is getting close to fledging soon, but she's still enjoying life on the nest. Bandit at Delta is also seemingly doing well despite the poor nest he is stuck with. And all of the Saanich lets have fledged, but they are still showing up on both the new and the old nests - we're hoping to get a sighting of all 3 of them at once.

Watch this - it is awesome - from this morning when Hero started making an adult call - I've never seen a newly fledged juvie do this before (watch about a minute and a half in)!

Ian - The video of Hero is so cute. I think he scared the other eaglet. Wow - it really was an adult call. :<::

George - Keeping :X: that all is well with your father in Florida. You can call the police to check on him.

Patti <3 <3 <3 Sweet.. George, also crossing fingers for your dad...I've had 'the call' but mostly about falls that have happened... My mom really realized today what she has been missing.. Her walker is a pretty red one and it turns on a dime.. has a seat in case she is tired... so, all through JC Penneys and then to the Harbor where we had fish and chips at Andrea's Seafood... where all the Cruzers eat when we hop off the boat from Santa Cruz... then her food shopping and a stop for her 'Port'... she mixes it with 7-up at night.....cute??? She can't wait to go back now that she has a bag full of new clothes...

Lala that is so sweet I'm so glad she got over being shy to get out. You are such a great daughter/friend. How great to have a bunch of snazzy new clothes to wear.

This lizzard just looked at me today as if to say you want me to move out of your way....well I know you are not going to step on me!!
