My mom really realized today what she has been missing.. Her walker is a pretty red one and it turns on a dime.. has a seat in case she is tired... so, all through JC Penneys and then to the Harbor where we had fish and chips at Andrea's Seafood... where all the Cruzers eat when we hop off the boat from Santa Cruz...  then her food shopping and a stop for her 'Port'... she mixes it with 7-up at night.....cute???  She can't wait to go back now that she has a bag full of new clothes...

I can fully understand how your mother feels. I really resisted any suggestion that a walker would be good for me. I had more excuses than Carter had liver pills! I certainly did not want to use it IN PUBLIC and never did. Instead of seeing a walker as a tool that I could use to my advantage, I saw it as a constant reminder of my limitations. Today, confined to a wheelchair, I would give anything to have that walker back. It took me a long time to feel comfortable going out in the chair, but I am so grateful for the freedom I now have to go anywhere I want.

cat, I had no idea you had a wheelchair... you certainly don't let that keep you at home... I admire you going out to camp and have fun... at Convict Lake there is a really nice wheelchair dock to fish (probably in the best spot to catch fish) ... its near the parking lot..do you have problems finding good access? Have fun on this new camp out!!!

My mom and dad live on their own, 93 and 95.... and it is so important that my mom, at least, will use the walker in the house.. my dad uses a cane he carved himself, so he's proud of that... after breaking a hip and then going through the process for the second time when a screw broke off.. and then a fall in the kitchen.. my mom is realizing that the walker is a life saver.. gives her the security she needs.. It was just getting out to the stores that was her problem..she did great today :)^

Barb CONGRATULATIONS on your 4,200 Postings. :><: :><: :><: :><:

I was reading on another site where this Alpaca Ranch called Blue Moon Ranch in Utah just lost a second Cria this week. That's 2 too many as far as I'm concerned. The first one a few days ago only weighed in at 10 pounds. It's mother was having trouble eating due to Dental Problems, and I suspect that is why the low Birth Weight. The Owners didn't even know she was expecting with all of their experience. Then today they lost another one. I was just in their Website which looks nice but it is obvious to me their main objective is money from selling the Alpacas and their fur! So sad. :'(

Barb, I know I wasn't the 'Linda' you were telling about the Golden Eagles.. but have to say I am almost finished with my book: Gifts of an Eagle... and just finished the part where Kent goes out first thing in the morning looking for 'road kill' for 'Lady'.. and how he sneaks it into his truck... I could have written this book myself... rofl

At least alpacas do not have to be killed for their fleece (not fur).

Too funny Linda, this one was hit by a vehicle and lost its right eye so can't survive in the wild. Most of the other wildlife there were illegal pets. Very interesting.

I can't believe it. :8O: The Coka Cola commercial says the whole world would come to an end if the formula was ruined. That's crazy talk. :hair:
