Today I have seen two very large cats in my yard...an orange tabby who sprayed one of my bushes while I watched and then just a bit ago there was a very sleek black/brown tabby who took off when I opened the back door. I have no idea who they belong to

So now I know why I haven't seen the little scamp today and the birdies have stayed in the trees too....no bird baths . It has been quite chilly today again...only 9C when I woke up this morning. The Southern States have all our summer :*: and heat too it would seem :D I really feel bad for all the folkies who have had to put up with all this strange weather. It is supposed to go to a high of 73F tomorrow for the last day of the Folk Festival.

Weeds are just plants that grow somewhere people don't want them. My neighbor thinks roses are weeds....go figure.

Well i have maintained for years that todays weeds will become tomorrow's expensive landscaping . Some weed blooms are actually more visually appealing than the common flowers we see for sale in the nursery departments of our mass merchandisers

Heading out to a surprise 65th birthday party soon. They are having a professional "Improv Group" to liven things up. We have to come up with a comment that the birthday boy uses and then they will improvise on it........should be a blast as he is a really funny guy. Will report tomorrow on all the fun we had. :}^

I have a question for all you who upload to YouTube. Are you able to do the Privately (password needed)? I don't want to put the kids out in the public. I'm in the process of making a movie (she says with her fingers crossed) and it will be too big for PhotoBucket or email. The only other thing I know about is YouTube.

The other thougth would be to burn it yourself to DVD or to CD if your computer has a cd/dvd burner as a component. Then all you would have to do is burn it from your hard drive onto the cd or dvd which would reduce any concerns over privacy on such sites as pb or you tube.

I burn most of my images onto CD's that i want to archive and a cd will hold alot of jpg or RAW files so its easier to store and take up less space. In the good ole days all my negatives were filed into sleeves and put into three ring binders sometimes with a contact sheet with any lab notes for a shot(s) i had printed in case i wanted to make a reprint later.

I couldn't resist this eagle with air plants on it (the one is blooming & has a purple flower on it), even though I don't really want any more dust catchers! I got it at Home Depot in Goleta & they have two more there  :D

I am finally at ease with relief! I finally managed to contact my 85yr old father on his cell phone without having to call the police or the appartment management office. It turned out he decided to go on a little carribean sea ,pardon the pun, Cruz to get away for a few days and forgot to charge his cell phone. So, at least this time i dont have to worry about getting "that call" at 3am. :><:

however had he told me before departing i would not have been sweating bricks wondering

Oh George I am so happy he is ok. I know you must have been worried sick. Hope you gave him an earful, so he won't do that again. My prayers were answered.

By the way CONGRATULATIONS on your 5,300 Posting Milestones. :><: :><: :><:

Well i was playing with what is called a plug in for my version of adobe photosho elements for HDR (hi dynamic range) that can pop some shots and i thought i would show an example using a black and white image i have shared before of the philadelphia musuem of art from my great grandfather

This is the original

using the HDR plug in called redynamix the shot now looks like an engraving or the image one would see on the back of a us paper note. The filter plug in seems to have accented the contrast and brought out some texture to the original shot. (now i am not sure or not but my great grandfather may be turning over in his grave with what i did to his shot but its fun to "experiment")

The original is my favorite, George. The three small buildings at the waters edge seem to have sad faces.

Thanks, Lala, for giving me a bit more info on the bird house. I love the old wood, and no wonder, it's 20 years old!!!
