Bastille Day![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7lCdJy40EE The French national holiday, celebrated on 14 July each year. In France, it is called “Fête Nationale” (”National Holiday”), in official parlance, or more commonly “quatorze juillet” (”14th of July”). It commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; the storming of the Bastille was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern French “nation”, and of the reconciliation of all the French inside the constitutional monarchy which preceded the First Republic, during the French Revolution. |

Deb, sounds like you really have your hands full this week. Look on the bright side, maybe you can catch a nap - in September.

![]() Got an email from a friend from work. Had to share... "The wife and I had a blast in Catalina. This was by far the coolest picture I took. There was a pod of about 100+ dolphins hanging out near Catalina, when we came in. They loved to ride the waves made by the ship.

eaglepedia revisited December 19, 2006 Newly fledged eagles migrate before their parents so do not travel with the adults. No one knows how the young birds know when and where to travel. Some fledgling eagles wander in a wide range their first few years. Some return to their origin, while others do not. Adult bald eagles, depending on location, usually migrate to the coast or large rivers near dams, searching for open water and easy food source. Wind currents play a large roll in determining their flight pattern. Some eagles are migratory while others are not. Many eagles in Florida do not migrate, but remain year-round. Most bald eagles migrate south in the fall to areas with sufficient food, and return north in the spring to nest. In the spring, the birds migrate quickly, but during the fall they migrate rather slow. They may remain in an area for a week or so before continuing on. http://www.baldeagleinfo.com/eagle/eagle10.html ![]() ![]() Visit Eaglepedia DISCLAIMER: Information here has been gathered in good faith from the internet and cannot be guaranteed to be totally accurate. |
