In a Chinese modern dance competition on TV one very unique couple won one of the top prizes. The lady, in her 30's, was a dancer who had trained since she was a little girl. Later in life, she lost her entire left arm in an accident and fell into a state of depression for a few years. Someone then asked her to coach a Children's dancing group. From that point on, she realized that she could not forget dancing. She still loved to dance and wanted to dance again. So, she started to do some of her old routines, but, having lost her arm, she had also lost her balance. It took a while before she could even make simple turns and spins without falling. Then she heard of a man in his 20s who had lost a leg in an accident. He had also fallen into the usual denial, depression and anger type of emotional roller coaster. But, she was determined to find him and persuade him to dance with her. He had never danced, and to dance with one leg....are you joking with me?? "No way!" But, she didn't give up, and he reluctantly agreed thinking, "I have nothing else to do anyway." She started to teach him dancing. The two broke up a few times because he had no concept of using muscle, how to control his body, and knew none of the basic things about dancing. When she became frustrated and lost patience with him, he would walk out. Eventually, they came back together and started training seriously. They hired a choreographer to design routines for them. She would fly high (held by him) with both arms (a sleeve for an arm) flying in the air. He could bend horizontally supported by one leg with her leaning on him, etc. In the video, as you will see, they dance beautifully and they legitimately won the competition. Hand In Hand (5:00) |

Penny that was one of the most graceful things I have ever seen. In the beginning I like the way it depicts their weakness and turns it into their strengths. What a brillant performance. The corriogrophy was superb. Thanks for sharing. That is worthy of watching repeatedly if you are ever wondering what to do with yourself after such an accident this is the place to "start". Cat I think you went to bed before you got to read my post. Did you eat any of the fish? I love to catch, clean and cook....just not eat.....bones....ewweeeewwww!!! Nice photo tho. I love it when dolphins follow the boat. I've had that happen a couple of times when whale watching. Nothing like experiencing that. You can swim with the dolphins in San Diego. I'd probably do that if I could swim. |

The below video shows the America I'm proud of being part of, when I turn off the network TV channels and take the time to learn what's actually happening in small town America, (not the news from the Urban areas or the Urban Sprawl Suburbs ) it restores the faith I have in this country. Sergeant First Class John C. Beale died for my FREEDOM, Michael Jackson did not. Sergeant First Class John C. Beale IS a hero, Michael Jackson was just an entertainer. Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor, and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely. http://blip.tv/play/AYGJ5h6YgmE "I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775. |

Well, that's very wierd??? It showed up in the quote and then it showed up before too. Penny....that's an angry look if I ever saw one. Sorry about the weather. Is this unusual for this time of year? Shiboyan must hate all that weather. Come here....beautiful sunshine everywhere. I think summer finally arrived. |
