Here's a really sad one in the Ventura County Star today, man is natures worst enemy.

What a sad waste of wildlife :'( :'( :'( and for such a preventable reason. Whoever left that rope should make a $14,000 contribution to the condor restoration project

Sharon, I am sending my thoughts and prayers for Laurie. What an ordeal she has been through. Hoping the blood thinners work well!

I just had the best afternoon ever with Precious.. The wind is pretty brisk and I think that brings the best out in a hawk... the first thing he did was try and land in a eucalyptus near me and he missed the mark.. and dropped, feet first.. and you can see in his face he is shocked!!.. then some twisting and turning to recover and finally flew off.. but came right back to snag and touch the tops of the trees... and finally perching and twisting twigs with his wings out.. he couldn't get anything in his talons so went onto the next small branch which he twisted off easily.. it was about 2 feet long and after realizing he had it with one talon, brought it up and had it with both talons.. this was his prize, and he flew all over the place with this long branch ... only dropping it when he wanted to land again... all the time peeping like a baby... it all reminds me of my pinecone from last year with Soar... this is how they learn to grab and hunt... I will post some pics tomorrow.. wish they were sharp but with all the movement and distance, I'm happy with what I have...

 should have read before posting the video....oh well. I like the Tshirt

Hulabirdie so thrilled to see you with us again for only a moment. Miss you enormously here and glad you are better. Just don't do too much shopping.....take care of those stitches!!

Laurie PE's are very serious.... pay attention to your body and make sure you communicate with your dr's so they "hear" you. Sharon :X: for you and her. You won't be able to take care of her if you don't take care of yourself. Been there done that. Get some :Zz: even if it's beside her hospital bed!! Keep us posted.

Lala how excited I am for you being able to watch Precious "learn" while you watch and thereby teaching us thru your pictures. Magnificent. And thank you so much for all your contribution.

I love being taken along on these little adventures with the birds and the critters Linda. How wonderful for you to be able to see all this first hand and thanks for sharing it with us afterwards. :D

Precious is a smart little hawklet especially since s/he is performing where you can get those amazing images :)^
