TRISHRG: Thank you for the link to the hummers. I got there just in time to see the mirror and the eggs and Pete's thumb which gave me perspective on the tiny size of the nest... |

Hello out there to everyone in Eagleland. I'm out of camp briefly to catch up on bills and to pick up a few groceries for our last week at camp. The weather hasn't been the greatest but we are making the most of it. Can you believe it's only 63 degrees right now??? I miss you guys.. How is everyone doing??? |

Marti. Thank you. I hope our weather improves enough this week for So far not to many photo opportunities. It's been POURING almost everyday. A few good days here and there but usually company shows up on those days. I'll see what I can do. Our eagles have been around but way to far away to get a good picture. We've mostly been hanging out at camp. The 4th of July the high temp was 56 degrees. We work winter coats on the boat to go watch the fire works. One day last week, temps were in the 50s for the whole day and night temp went down to 39 degrees. We had the wood stove going that day. It's really been a very unusual summer weather wise. |

Laurie, I think I'd rather be at your camp! Lots of folks are dealing with really high temperatures right now. 55 suddenly sounds great! You've got the best seat in the house, so to speak. Enjoy

Harpo, prepare for another rendition of "It's a small world after all". I was talking with my neighbor and their son and it turns out that he works for the same firm as your ES! He has an architecture degree, but teaches staff how to use some sort of architectural modeling program called, if i got the name right, RIVIT. |

Marti, Loved your "butterfly on plastic" yesterday. I have been visiting the Butterflies Alive! exhibit here in Santa Barbara and have posted photos to share here. One looks just like yours. I looked it up and think it is a pipevine swallowtail. I love how the top and bottom have different colors and patterns. ![]()
