Your grandchildren are just so adorable Linda. Is Summer wearing a smocked sundress? They both look like they have their summer tans :D

Are you feeding your tomatoes something special? They really look delicious :)^
I'm glad I didn't bother planting any this year...too much :rn:

Someone is a flatlet in the Sidney nest right now too...maybe Tiny, I haven't checked

Speaking of Tiny, sassyk on the Hancock forum got this image of him ducking yesterday as this plane was coming in for a landing :o That's Hero sitting below him.

Does this image make you nervous? It sure makes me uncomfortable

Speaking of Elephants, PETA today in several cities after "an undercover investigation" has filed criminal complaints against Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. One city is here in Philadelphia as well as what my quick search found out, Providence Rhode Island.

FWIW, I have not seen the supposed video footage but I do suspect the circus somewhat but not as much as i suspect a radical group with thier "agenda". Either way, it will be interesting to see the outcome. I do hope that there was no mistreatment of the elephants since Philadelphia has none in residence at the zoo.

The geriatric elephants were sent out to the Pittsburgh Zoo because they have more space than the facility in Philadelphia and our zoo did not have the adequate funding to construct a new habitat for them.

What's the crud underneath an elephant's foot??
Slow humans of course! rofl

Lala those pic's of the birdies should go in the fair as the sequence of events but I don't see that class any more. But you have your max of 10....I don't know how you decide. Kids look adorable and having a great summer.

Harpo some of those guys don't look like they could haul 40-45 lbs. Yikes. I did not know that Paul's nephew was and Eagle Scout. ES's are tough and strong and brave and well trained!!

Penny isn't that nice that three are being released. Shows what can be accomplished.

:^: :^: :X: that DD can move. We looked at a place today that will be really great for her. :><: :><:

George I so agree with you. It's disrespectful plain and simple. rain should not be allowed in July. So does this mean you'll be able to have your surgery??? I was confused? I hope you are able to have it done soon.

Electricity came on about 2 hours early. I knew DD was going to have a momogram today so I went to the hospital to surprise her and then went over to look at this place she was interested in.

I'm hoping they have replaced/repaired whatever was necessary to continue supplying us with our "juice" now.

Penny, Yes, Summer is wearing a smocked top with pink shorts.. it was one of her birthday gifts ... I did a lot of research on which tomatoes to plant, but it really comes down to my son helping me plant them with lots of chicken fertilizer from the hen house..then lots of straw mulching... and the other major difference from other years.. a drip system.. with hoses going on both sides of each plant ...long deep watering and then letting them dry up quiet a bit.. many gardeners use moisture meters with their tomatoes because too much water wiill make them crack around the stem... am already planning for next year and what kind of structure to have them climb on .. this year the plants were too big and heavy for my cages...

I hope to find out for sure on August 5th regarding the move of the tendon atop my arch to more mid foot. Thats when I shall see the podiatric surgeon again. The only thing causing the delay is the diabetic dermopathy on the foot. This is a condition of the capilaries which cause scabbing and then red spots under the skin.
This is not dangerous and comes with the diabetes over time. However, any scabs that come off could provide an inroad for an infection which is the one thing a diabetic doesnt need on the foot.

If all goes well, i really want to get it done before it gets cold as its hard to wear long pants over a casted foot :X: I want it done ASAP for sure. The other foot was done in July so i can at least Survive it being done in august or early september

Hi there, just got home.

Linda, those photos of your bird house - dinner time - should be placed in a frame with matting for four photos side by side! AND your comments below each on the matting! :><: :><: :><: :><: :><: Fiber? rofl rofl rofl

I found an upside down garden in my local store. It is a soft cylinder with a plastic cap. You get a small tomato plant or anything you want about 6 or 8 inches tall and insert through the cylinder so the plant comes out the hole. The plant faces down! Then fill with potting mix and hang up - we are going to hang ours from our deck. No critters can get to it. I'm thinking beefsteak tomatoes! Bring on the sandwiches and salads! I'll :clk: when I get it done. Going down to "Wally World" tonight to get a couple of things. Tomatoes are at the top of the list. If I like this planter, I may get a couple more.

Just found out that someone(s) going up and down our main street and a couple of blocks on either side - and punching car tires with an ice pick. :8O: Our friend loaned the use of his dump trailer to my DH and they went down and got some crushed rock to use on our property. It sat on the property for about three weeks and tires started going down :o Took it to the tire guy today, and he said "Join the crowd", and told him there were a lot of folks with the same problem. Seems he used a thin ice pick, and the tires would have a very sloooooow leak. They don't know who it is. Our friend put in a police report so they would have a record of it happening on our property. (Gee, I hope they punch the jeep..... :<:: I need new tires.) But DH says they are fine for now.
DH---> :bam:

Well, i thinks i am will call it a night. My feets are sore and i am tired from hoofing around all day so NYTOL! :}^

Marti,Since you said Jeep, here is a classic WW2 Motor pool song made famous by good ole Spike Jones. Yes, i even have it in my collection :P

LITTLE BO PEEP HAS LOST HER JEEP
(Frank De Vol / Jerry Browne)

Horace Heidt & His Orch. - 1942
Spike Jones & His City Slickers (vocal: Del Porter) - 1942

Private Jackson had a girl he fondly called Bo-Peep
Now Jackson didn't have a car, so drove by in a jeep
They took a ride, the time flew by, and Bo-Peep was in heaven
Till Jackson cried "Bo-Peep, this jeep's gotta be in camp by eleven"

So little Bo-Peep has lost her jeep
And don't know where to find it
Her soldier boy took it back to camp
And left Bo-Peep behind it

It didn't have doors, the seats were hard
But Bo-Peep never minded
It didn't ride like a Cadillac
She wondered who designed it

Roller coasters nearly killed her
Aeroplanes they never thrilled her
But with Jackson at the wheel
She got that jeep, jeep, jeep appeal

Now little Bo-Peep wants to find her jeep
And find her soldier chappie
If he comes chug chug in his old blitz buggy
Bo-Peep will be happy

(Musical Break – Spike Jones Style)

Now little Bo-Peep has lost her jeep
Her boyfriend made an error
He let her drive, goodness, sakes alive
That Bo-Peep she's a terror

The throttle pushed down, she tore through town
The red lights didn't stop her
The soldier knew that they both were through
When she side-swiped a copper

(Car sounds - "Look Out" - Crash sound)

Now little Bo-Peep has lost her jeep
Oh my, why must her joy end
Now her little jeep is layin' in a heap
And the guard house has her boy friend

George..I have seen the video. Not pleasant! The elephants get pretty nervous and anxious and act like they want out of there after being hit so many times. I just wanted to take the sticks and hit the men with them!! I know elephants have tough skin but those men were hitting pretty hard and even on the faces!

Well, Jim and I decided to drive south to San Diego after all but we took the coastal route, Hwy. 101. It was a beautiful day and not too hot.
