Good morning all. DH received telephone call last night from our new renter (just refurbished their house prior to them moving in) - and the renter has a plumbing problem. (commode backed up). Now, DH has done most all his own plumbing repairs all his life. He is at a point now that he is not as speedy, and hands don't work as well as they used to, and not the proper tools on hand. We have to go down this morning and assess the problem. I wrote down the number of the two plumbers in town, and hopefully, he will turn the job over to one of them. I hate plumbing! Hope this one turns out as easy as Joannie's. |

Just wanted to add this link to a wildlife rehabilitation center here in Nova Scotia called the Hope For Wildlife Society. Two years they were licensed to take in and rehabilitate birds of prey. If you click on In The News, there are several articles on the facility. The one called Nobody's Pet...A Story of Hope is interesting reading. The Photo Gallery has species specific galleries as well as a gallery of animal release pictures. There a nice sequence of a bald eagle being release. And somewhere in the site is a video of the release. www.hopeforwildlife.net |

Marti first I would tell the Renters to shut off the water behind the Water Closet! (tank). That way it will stop overflowing. Hope they have enough sense not to use it till after it's fixed. A good plunging is probably all it needs. If a child flushed something down, then the jon will have to be pulled up off the floor. Could also be tree roots which are Rotor Rooter's worst nightmare, and yours too. Very expensive. |

Ah sounds like there could be a kid in the house who likes to watch things go down the hole! The best tool a parent can have in thier arsenal is the good ole "plumber's snake" for declogging blocked pipes and the traps of sinks.

You are right George. It's called an Auger, and it just so happens I have one. Saved me a lot of money over the years. I bought it after Frank died. He was an Apprentice Plumber and told me what to do when Lisa & Maria flushed toothbrushes, combs, brushes, pacifier's etc.. I got quite good at all aspects of Bathroom Plumbing. Just call me Josephine! Hey Peetie you have a good time with the boys. I'll hopefully get to chat with you later. |

Thought I could get a Mani Pedi today, but no such luck. The Salon is booked solid. So I scheduled one for Wednesday when I'm off. Going out to dinner with some patients that night so it will work out well. Then the following Sunday our neighbor is throwing a Party, so my hands and feet will look nice if nothing else does. |
