A quote from Harry Milt regarding the eaglets at the Saanich/Sydney nest. It is in nature's grand scheme that Breeze and Hero have gone North....The salmon are now spawning in and around Campbell River, which is about 200 miles North. 100's of happy eagles are feasting. This is a direct 5 hour flight for the birds. It is good that they; left together and were both in good health and strong. Their chances for success are much higher than most. All the wishing and imaginings won't bring them back. And this is not what we should wish for, but rather give them God's speed in their search for the exciting and new eagle world. Some of his photos of Ma and Pa Sydney............ ![]()

Thanks Penny! That replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer was the one I worked on when I joined the project in about 1990. It was the first 1903 Wright Flyer to go into a full scale wind tunnel (at NASA Ames in Mountainview, CA). By the way, I meant to mention, that that photo was not ice, but rather a very high speed camera catching water poured over the guys head.

I had a real scare this morning! Sheeeeesh!!!!!Walked from one side of the house to the other, and smelled smoke - very strong. Immediately turned off the air, thinking that something was wrong. Then went outside to see if the smell was there as well. It was! A block down from us, there was some kind of grass fire. The wind was blowing the smoke directly to us. Called 911, and they were already aware, and it was put out pretty quick. However, the house still smelled like smoke. Finally, the air conditioning is clearing it out. |

Marti....that's hysterical of the water. I thought that was what it was but not sure. Those feathers are just magnificent. I've never seen that done before. We are taking in a lot of gords. There was a class for that a few years back and now people are making them right and left. I always wondered why you were named Wrightflyer....I should have asked before. One year I did something similar with my table setting. I used a picture of the stealth and one of the wright bros machine. It was a great setting. Penny that girl eagle really wanted to get away from him. He said in the video that these eagles were probably eating better than them. I might have been tempted to "steal" a couple of those trout he was talking about!!!! |

Regarding the two jerks in extremely short shorts, if the conservancy doesn't press charges for trampling through an eagles nest, then what good are they? Isn't their job to protect the flora and fauna of Catalina. I hope to see their mug shots for tresspassing! And I hope they find shorts that fit, instead of those hot pants. |
