WOW Marti,
I remember your heart shaped Hoya.
It has grown a lot. It's beautiful.
You look like you have a green thumb with all your plants..

Marti, I have been Cl#%@ing, cl**#ing getting the house ready for the Israeli's.

I thought I had a clean house until I started getting rid of all the treasures
I've been accumulating for 100 years..
I should have taken before and after photos.
:o

Marti your heart shaped hoya plant is really a beaut :)^ I too have an Indian rope plant which does nothing. I think it needs to be outside but what to do with it in the winter?

I'm not sure I get the 'upside down' gardening thing. It just looks so  I'd rather see my plants right side up

I am not even going to go there Cathy. The only reason we have never moved is because of all our treasures rofl.

I loved the illuminated balloons in your slideshow. Thanks for sharing :)

Lala - so sorry to hear about the loss of your BIL, David - our hearts go out to Barbara, you and all your family - will keep you in prayer and thought.

Marti - like your wisdom about "dust" - I gave up on "dust" some time ago - it never went away for long anyway - and yes, life is too short.
Sorry to hear it's so hot in TX - lots of TX is hot right now - DD and family are dealing with Vancouver, WA having 106 degree temps when it would usually be in the high 70's and 80's this time of year - here in SB were back to highs of 75 degrees - fog is keeping us cool.

Such wonderful news about Bandit - so happy for him - guess he quickly found out that not all white headed eagle are his parent and going to feed him.

Hiker - thanks for the great pics of the hot air balloons - did you go for a ride too - will have to look it up on the internet as we don't hear about the festival in the SB paper - it would be alot closer than Albuquerque, NM for their big yearly festival.
Can't wait till your son and family arrive - bet you can't either - looking forward to lots of pics.

I am really, really upset and angry that the LA Zoo onreceived a small fine of $3281.00 for failing to provide to veterinary care in the 6-10-06 death of their elephant Gita when she was showing signs of distress and hours went by before they attended to her.

Have a video to share about the Elephant Care at the SB Zoo - guess I continue to think other zoo provide the same care, but they don't as Penny told me months ago.

Have a great day - Zoovies are over till next year - good turn out for "The Endless Summer" - producer Bruce Brown was there signing posters and T-shirts with the Endless Summer logo on it - also had two "woodies" from the SB Woodies Club - a 1948 Ford and 1952 Chevrolet on display.

Sheila, We left around 8:30 and the event was still going on until 11:00 pm.
I don't think they were giving rides last night. Last night was all about the Illuminations..

This is Sonsie, the Educational Eagle at O.W.L.

Posted Image

Sonsie is a Bald Eagle who came to OWL as a juvenile from the Yukon in July 2002. He was being attacked by crows and was rescued by a Swiss couple on a boating holiday. They fed and cared for Sonsie for several days before he was sent to OWL. By this time, he associated food with people and could not be released, as he would be a danger to people.

Sonsie now "earns his keep" by attending off-site programs and has been trained to come to the glove. :D

I put my Hindu Rope plant outside in the Greenhouse and it died!

Both of my Orchid's also died. Apparently the lady who claimed she knew about them, and cared for them while I was on vacation really didn't. The roots are crispy, and although there are only 2 roots on the one that appear decent, I was told to toss it as it would take years for it to bloom again.

My Hoya is doing GREAT! I have it next to my smallest AeroGarden, and it is enjoying the light from it. It was growing so slow, when I put it in a sunny window.

George & Peetie I will send each of you an E.M.

My Tomatoes and Herb's in the AeroGardens are growing very well. Have so many I have to give them away. People ask where they got the Herbs from, because they were so fresh, and tasted so good. Amy told her about the 3 A.G. that I have. Now my lettuce is a different story they all died! I will be calling the Company about those Wednesday. Want to replace them with Romaine, and will buy some Green Beans too.
