Went on a field trip today with 30 kids to the Padre/Braves game. Padres lost 6-2 :( but Will Venaldi got a home run! Wooohooo! That was exciting! But we were so far away from the action that I couldn't really concentrate on the game. Couldn't hear anything going on...no "strike 1!!" or "Ball!"

Nice shots nonetheless! :clk: :)^ Was the San Diego Chicken there at PETCO field? I still remember him as the KGB Chicken rofl Now I am showing my age i guess.

PETCO looks like a nice park to view a game from however. I find it amusing to see the return to the smaller fan friendlier parks than the old style "Giant Fishbowl" multi purpose stadiums such as Veterans Stadium in Philly, Three Rivers in Pittsburgh or Riverfront in Cincinatti.

Starting with Camden Yard in Baltimore and the more recent fields its great to be closer to the action even from the nose bleed seats than you were in the Multi Purpose fields of the recent past.

I refer to the new style stadiums as , if there were a class defined by the american institute of Architects, "Fenway-Wrigley Retro". The views are way better than the old days and the early days where one could have an obstructed view behind a column such as when as a kid i went to Connie Mack Stadium in philly

I didn't go there this time.... Hoot was upstaged by another shot of a great horned owl that I liked more than mine and it got a Honorable Mention only.... should have won...

Well i know someobdy who is a member of a camera club and also acts as a judge for other clubs photo shows. The key with alot of contests by a group is the judges who do the judging. If the judging is internal the specter of cliquish bias rears its head. The more established clubs actually have judges from outside the organization to judge the members images to have some degree of objectivity.

It isnt easy being a jude when you have to judge your peers in your own group

The only pro judging we have, that I know of at least, are the one in pro arts. Those are paid. I did not know this but after judging those that "don't make it" are required to come and remove them. Yikes!

Lala it would have to go a long way to do better than Precious for me. I figure it this way. Everyone has their own set of tastes. Also their own prejudices. That's what "judging" is all about.

The concert in Ojai was wonderful. Joe was not there tonight and they had a nice array of up beat music.

The moon is bright and full

The fireworks were great from the beach

Life is great!!!

Sorry for your pain George. Hope the med's have helped calm things and you are tucked in ok....
