Sam, the little koala that became the symbol of hope during the Australia fires when she was given water by a firefighter and rescued, died. She had some very advanced cysts they tried to remove with surgery. During surgery they found them to be way too large and advanced and inoperable so they had to euthanize her. She would have lived in major pain, beyond what they could have managed for her. Poor little thing is now over the rainbow bridge. May she have plenty of eucalyptus trees to live in now. :^^^:

RIP Sam. :'( <3 <3

eaglepedia revisited

July 28, 2007

We've all seen the "Gooney Bird" run, flap, and hop to get into the air and then watched it crash lands on its nose! The eagle has to end the flight slowly, first with slowing of the wing beats. As gravity begins to pull him down, he will move his wing to increase the surface area which makes more lift to slow him for the landing. While maneuvering his approach, the whole wing is moved slightly at the shoulders to increase the angle of landing making more lift as they slow down in their speed. This will stop the eagle from dropping too fast. The tail will be spread open and lowered to act as a brake. Landings are much harder than taking off!

Loving the New Little Panda. So sweet. Momma rocking it, just as a human would a baby.

LaLa still awaiting your fabulous pictures. You are a Blue Ribbon Winner in our book. The Judges must be blind or biased.

Helping a friend out. He's a Retired 3 Star General who sings. Needed a little help with a selection of songs that would suit him. So I picked out a few. Love Man, Try A Little Tenderness, I've Had The Time Of My LIfe, Cry To Me, These Arms Of Mine, Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay would all suit his voice range and style. These are from Dirty Dancing.

Good Morning Cruzers! My heart is heavy with sadness for poor little Sam. Koala's are my favorite animal, and hearing that one suffered so much and had to be put down is just devastating! :'(

Marti poor baby without your internet service. I went for months with out mine and I thought my throat had been cut. It's AWFUL!!! They probably have not given any updates on their site cause THERE IS NONE!!!#&*@ Hope it gets resolved quickly. That was nice of them to give you a full month of credit tho

Topa how do you contain yourself and not get on the first plane and fly to Boston I can not fathom. I'd want to be there and squeeze and hug them from limb to stern!!

Hey Peetie how does your garden grow. Oh that was Daisy Daisy how does your garden grow......an old song. Is your nephew still there?

Topa we were in Ojai last night listening to the music under a brightly lit moon. I was so beautiful last night! I thought last night was the last concert but there is one more.

Vickie I agree. Little Sam :'( To be saved like that and then to have such pain. Wish there was something they could have done.

I have GOT to go out today. I'm not sure what to do about my chest that needs shelves. Inside the back of the cabinet is 34" and in the front is 38" Guess the guys at Lowe's will figure out how to do that....and my toilet broke last night. So I have to get that fixed too

Oh and I need to shop for the rest of my tablesetting. Nothing looking like an award statue except for Kathie's Oscar???? that I can use huh?
