George WOO HOO. No longer have to trek to the UP clinic for awhile. That's good news. Just wish you could get that surgery so you're feets would feel better.

I think I am done shopping for table setting. A red ribbon will go nicely with the decor but a blue would look even better!!! Are you alll SICK of hearing about this fair yet?

yeah the doctor dash gets tiresome but i have to in order to maintain control of the diabetes

with the fair talk i am gonna have to unearth the film of the rogers and hammerstien musical "Carosel" and watch it.

I have to be carefull at fairs because the barkers at teh side show often mistake me for one of thier attractions who got loose rofl

Well, as it is now 1115PM i hear the sleep fairy calling to me. So, NYTOL!!! :}^

Thud! :Zz: :Zz: :Zz: :Zz:

Sandie I remember making the crane shaped napkins too....I'll try to find it but you could also try the origami crane fold in paper to get an idea how to do it :ok:

I just came back on to see if anyone had posted :clk: :clk: :clk: from the fair.
Guess we'll see some tomorrow. :P

Siobhan is totally pooped. Long day of coat brushing to de-tangle before the bath...then the trauma of having to endure the whole procedure..soaping, much rinsing, blotting dry (without rubbing the coat to avoid tangling), blow drying on no heat setting, re-combing gently when dry, then a trip outside for you-know-what and off to the Vet where she had to endure some tartar removal off two teeth, a thermometer where the sun don't shine for at least a minute  the rabies shot in between the shoulder blades and the worst of all, a serious nail clipping because she is absolutely determined never to have her front claws pruned :o. As soon as they were finished, she calmed down considerably and had no issues with her back paws at all
She was sooo happy to leave

George you are so self-deprecating rofl

Glad to hear your Doctor thinks you are doing well too. I'm sure it gets so tiresome traipsing from one to the next so often. Good thing you have such a great sense of humor :ok:

I've just scanned over chat today, but wanted to make a couple comments.

Carole - Glad to hear DH's surgery went so well. Prayers for a speedy recovery for him.

Cricket - Tell Elaine she is in my prayers also. Tell her also to keep a positive outlook. There are so many things that can be done for bladder cancer today. My dad has been battling bladder cancer since he was 80. He's 90 now and still bowling 3-5 times a week. Until a few months ago, he was also working out at the gym 3 times a week. Now he exercises at home and walks around the block several times a week. July was a rough month for him. We almost lost him twice, but it wasn't related to his cancer. He is doing better now and went back to bowling today.

Sandie - Here are some web sites with directions for folding napkins into swans (and other things). Hope one (or all?) of them can help you make what you want to make. I like the 2nd one the best.

http://www.roterochs.de/english/napkins/

http://service2.podbean.com/

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do a search for Napkin Folding, beware of a serious virus. One of the sites listed will tell you that you are in danger of getting a virus. If you see this, the best thing to do is to SHUT DOWN and/or REBOOT your computer immediately. If you click OK or the red X, it will start a scan of your computer and tell you that you are infected and you need to buy their software to get rid of it. If it gets to that point, you already have their virus....but whatever you do, DO NOT buy their software. That will grant it full access to your computer.

edit: The two sites I posted above are safe.

Next Saturday it will be my 1st Anniversary off the cigarettes. I feel worse, then I did when I was smoking. Wheezing, no energy. I made Tommy a promise and I will keep my word.

Now I find out Tommy is smoking. Lisa & Jerry took in his Aunt who is addicted to Oxycontin, and is a smoker. Tommy asked her for four cigarettes, and he smoked them! Lisa punished him for that. Today he told this Aunt he was going to hitch a ride to Indianapolis, which he said his mother said he could do, he got in a vehicle with a complete stranger a man who took him there. Tommy got in major trouble for that antic. I'm sure all of this is an attention getting thing. I never have any trouble with him. He always acts out at home.

HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON PLEASEEEEE

Particularly Preposterous Packaging Day

Buy anything lately? Did you ever succeed in getting the durn thing open? What do older people do when even mainstream society can’t open a simple bottle of aspirin, let alone a milk carton?

Posted Image

Well today highlights the problem with the predominately preposterous packaging we’ve all encountered. Bulletproof plastic? What moron thought of that? Inquiring minds want to know - why?

What she is doing is just why I have a dental appt. this week for a chipped tooth!
