I think he was just disgusted. He turned around several times and reached back to stop the son from his antics. I think at the end when TEF put his arm around his son and held his head still, it validated to the other little boy that TEF's son was a baaaaad boy. And when that little boy walked off the stage, that's when TEF lost it - he knew!

UPDATE ON THE OREGON NEST IMPORTANT ANOUNCEMENT: We are experiencing technical difficulties with the webcam. Due to a thunderstorm in the area of the nest around August 1, we think the camera power supply may have been damaged by lightning. For a few days the camera was not working. As you can see, it is back online but has been knocked sideways. The eagle has been making its first short flights -- back and forth from nest to nearby branch the past couple days (August 6, 2009).... Pengra is now a brancher.........

Saanich/Sydney adults on the nest which is good news for Tiny that they haven't left the area yet to go salmon fishing. Tiny must be out exploring.

Zoo Atlanta Panda Update Friday, August 7 You’ve probably noticed that sometimes when you are watching Panda Cam, the camera isn’t always on Xi Lan. In fact, you may have noticed that the camera is sometimes following Lun Lun instead. This is because Zoo Atlanta staff members collect data six days per week for a number of long-term behavioral studies. When the pandas are in the dayrooms, we use the cameras to remotely monitor their behavior. Because Lun and Xi Lan are housed together, we often need to monitor Lun’s behavior with the camera, instead of keeping the camera on Xi Lan. For example, the other day when I was collecting data on Lun, Xi Lan was off doing his own thing, but I needed to follow Lun so I could record her behavior. Although this resulted in temporarily losing sight of Xi Lan on Panda Cam, he quickly came back into view when he proceeded to initiate play with Lun. Other times, we’ll notice that Yang Yang Yang or Mei Lan are doing something particularly interesting or cute, and we’ll switch the camera to one of them for a while. Even though Xi Lan is the baby, we want to help you keep in touch with the entire panda family! Speaking of family, the giant panda family at the San Diego Zoo has grown again! Congratulations to our colleagues in San Diego (and Bai Yun!) for another successful birth. Thanks, Laurie. I didn't think anyone even went over there any more. One night I spent several hours going through that thread from the beginning. (the closed threads) You would not believe how busy it was! Kinda neat, too. You can see some member's kids grow up right before your eyes. 'Them wuz the good ol' days'.

TODAY IN HISTORY Thought I should share a tidbit of Photographic History with you all. IT was 40 years ago today....![]() Today in 1969 the famous image of The Beetles Crossing Abbey Road was shot. The shot was accomplished with only three takes too. Remember, this was in the day before the thought of digital photography along with the inventor were likely not even born |

Had to have the cops come to the home here today and this time, for a change, I wasnt the one who got the citation. I went out earlier this afternoon at 11 and when i returned there was a car right in front of my driveway blocking it. I knew somebody here was having some sort of event but didnt know who they were. I had had problems when i had my broken leg with somebody on this street whining about my lawn not being manicured short enough to suit them and had the cops come and cost me money. So, I decided that turnabout was fair play when the car was still blocking my driveway entrance at 5pm. Cops came and wrote them a parking ticket. Common courtesy would or should be that one doesnt park right infront of a persons driveway on the same side of the street. Or that you would at least have the courtesy to ask the homeowner if you could. I think in some neighborhoods if one tried to pull that sort of stunt they would come back and find thier tires flattend or thier car windshield and windows smashed to smithereenys. I wasnt going to stoop to slashing tires or breaking windows but the car isnt blocking my driveway now. I just hope ive not opened up a can of worms with other retaliatory calls about something will be comming at me.

George...I know exactly how you feel! The neighbors are always parking in front of our house when there is plenty of parking elsewhere on the street and then my daughter can't even park in her own spot in front of our house. And on the wknds. when her boyfriend is here, its even worse. We have 4 cars to park on wknds and there is only one driveway. Jim parks on the pavement on the side of the driveway, I park in the driveway, Linds parks on the street and there is room for another car/truck there so her boyfriend can park there when he's here. But many times she ends up having to find something elsewhere. And I HATE when someone parks in the middle so no one else can even park there! We always try to be considerate of others on the street but don't get the same in return. Makes me want to slash a few tires! |

George that used to happen to us in the winter when the parents of our neighbors came to visit. We always shovel out an extra wide area from the street all the way up our sidewalk. The parents would come over, park right across the shoveled out area to make it easier for the Mom to get in and out. No problem, but then pull forward to park so you are not blocking it for us or anyone else who needs to use it. ![]() I left a note saying as much on the windsheild of their vehicle so they wouldn't do it again and it worked.

I really dont care if they had only parked on the street in front of my house, however to have the gonads to actually park behind another car and block the driveway off completely is what irritated me. Not knowing where the person was visiting, if i had to get out of my driveway i would not have been able to if an emergeny arose. I then thought about whomever it was who whined to the township about my lawn being unkempt and unmowed when i had the broken leg without having the courtesy to speak to me first made me decide that , even if it wasnt the same neighbor who complained about my lawn, i would return the favor and give them a nice citation for parking ilegally on the street blocking my access and egress. After all, if it was good for this goose it should be just as good for that gander shouldnt it? What goes around comes around and turnabout is fair play i rationalized when i spoke to the cops. I would not have minded had they at least asked me before they parked their car. I guess courtesy isnt common anymore even here in suburbia. Also I wouldnt have minded if it were a short time period but Five hours was a tad inconsiderate for blocking a driveway. My two car garage is not visible from the street and there would be no way to tell if anyone were home or not by looking for a car in the driveway. (dont get mad, get even!)

George - You did the right thing. Blocking some one's driveway is totally unacceptable, as you said, what happens if an emergency occurs and you can't get out of your driveway. Some people just don't think or just don't care and should suffer the consequences. |
