Laurie thanks. I am way overdue for mine, and I'm not looking forward to it. Would rather have Root Canal! I too have calcifications bi laterally from drinking a LOT of Pepsi both when I was young and as an adult. The Tech's say their sorry, but I really don't think they mean it. I think some enjoy giving the pain to others! It's difficult for me with my New Hip. |

Happy Left-Handers Day! August 13th is designated International Left-Handers Day by Lefthanders International. It was first observed 13 August 1976. As its name suggests, it is meant to promote awareness of the inconveniences facing left-handers in a predominantly right-handed world. It celebrates their uniqueness and difference, who are from 7 to 10% of the world's population. People who are left handed use their right brain, which appears to help in geometry, and related subjects. There also appears to be a connection between left-handedness and intelligence. ![]() |

I haven't been by in a while so can't possibly catch up but I wanted to send a to Karen on the loss of Buddy. He and your MIL have no doubt been joyously reunited by now...Laurie - Great news on the mammo! I know that must be a huge load off your mind.Regan - I was so happy to see your post from last night, but sorry to hear that after all you've been through you will probably not regain sight in your eye. I know your positive outlook will carry you through and as long as you can see Orcas, Eagles and all your other wild friends, you will be blessed. Enjoy your vacation! I heard a rumor that today is the day the Israelis hit Ojai, Topa! I know you've been jumping up and down in excitement waiting for this day so enjoy to the fullest! |

I am only submitting this for consideration! Considering the discomfort of those mamorgrams, remember to conisder the discomfort if something nasty was there and not discovered until it was too late! Having a cousin who is a survivor and a fiance who wasnt, i submit that for those who fear the discomfort of the test. It is the lesser of the two evils that is for sure

Well we then we lefties are the only ones in our right minds?? For fun, try finding a left handed fountain pen! They do exist as its the angle of the pen's nib that smears or doesnt smear the ink as the pen is used by we lefties! Does anyone know where i can find a left handed beer or coffee mug??

George, I grew up as a righty and became a lefty at age 59 - obviously not by choice. Quite a shock! I am still not all that proficient with my left hand - I still brush my nose and cheeks with my toothbrush.

NPHS wow time flies - summer is going quickly - welcome back to the kids! Cat - I had a major injury once that laid up my right arm and my left hand was useless - couldn't brush my teeth - comb my hair - feed myself - LOL - pathetic I was. We have 3 lefties in my immediate family - my mom, sis and brother! so they got one whole side of the table to themselves! that took care of that problem! |

Dont feel bad. In grade school i was writing equally well with both hands and one teacher in essence forced me to pick one , or else. So the passive agreesive streak in me chose to use the left hand which later i learned had its benefits. In the upper grades we had those stupid chairs with the writing pad on only one side of them and normally one if any with them on the left side of the chairs. So when exams came, it was an advantage writing sideways and across the chiar to view a fellow students test paper if one were inclined to cheat. Lucky for me i am not one of the lefties who write with their hand curled around as if it were the hook of Captain hook holding the pen. To me that has to be painfull or at least a contributing factor to those who later end up with carpral tunnel. Odd thing is i only write and eat left handed |
