Thanks CatM for reminding us of Left-Handers Day...We have several left handers in our family, the latest is granddaughter who will have her 18th birthday in a couple of days. Over the years I have noticed that left handness in individuals produces ones that are math oriented. Also, after all of these years, I can almost pick out a left handed person after talking with this person and observing their mannerisms. Hauntingly, I recently met a person who I suspected was left handed but could not confirm it...then after many weeks, this person picked up a pen and it was confirmed...but, sometimes mannerisms can throw you off, clapping, throwing a ball...watch an ice skater spin...that's usually the key with the ice skater. How many of our presidents have been left handed? Always been an interesting subject for me. Chiquita |

I am the family oddball. Other than my one cousin i am the only other lefty in the family. At family get togethers my cousin and i were always seated at the table's ends. The little brat in me however loved it when i got seated by my older "evil shrew sister" as i coudl jab her in her ribs with my elbow while eating Of course then she would jab me with her fork and then i would whine pathetic and make my sister out to be the instigator (she is 8 yers older than i was so i could get away with it)

My sister writes on paper with her left hand. On a blackboard, however, she uses her right. Most other activities, she uses her right. Very strange. I now use my left for everything. I am getting much better at things, but there are times when I cannot read what I have written. I have even mastered a few things that require two hands - or learned to use alternatives - like velcro closures. |

So here's what happened today. I went down to put my entry in and the first thing I hear is "there's a problem!!" Not what I wanted to hear!! Someone cancelled her entry for today (or so the chairman thought) so they had 11 tables instead of 10. There was no 11th table so my friend ran home and got her card table (thank goodness she had one!!) and it was MUCH smaller than the other tables. I just didn't get to put everything that I had planned to put on. But it is what it is. Plus I only had 1/2 hour to do it instead of a full hour to "futz" with it like everyone else. But it's there!! It's "simply" elegant. |

Your table setting looks like a blue ribbon to me! With fine dining , i know that taste is important but it is also Presentation that makes the exerience noteworthy! dang just gimme the four season's menu served on paper plates with dixie cups for the beverages ![]() oh yeah also remember to give me the fine sterling plastic utensils too! That will make the dishwashers happy that they dont have to wash all the stuff that way should have a box of MY-T-FINE on each plate as a subliminal suggestion to the judges

George this is a nifty item made by a Dutch designer we know. We have a few of these and my left-handed brother enjoys them too. I believe these are only avaiiable in stores like the MOMA and other shops selling designer items. They were in both the New York MOMA in Soho and in San Francisco when we were last there. The Dombo mug by Richard Hutten ![]() The down side is they take up a lot of storage room  |

From my point of view your table setting is really standing out in the crowd Sandie Nice that it has it's own separate table. What did you leave out? Do the judges erect some kind of background material to block out all the interference from the 'busy'ness of the surrounding competitors when they look at each table setting? IMNTK Yours looks like the winner to me
