Vick being able to play again, that's a disgrace. And on the Eagles. Since my co-workers nephew is a Philadelphia Eagle, Lorenzo Booker, he's a major animal lover, and I bet he's just as ticked off as me.

If I were an Eagle Fan, I certainly wouldn't be any longer. I would be ashamed to root for them. JMHO.

please be carefull with the fire's again in California/America......

Thanks Peetie. As of yesterday we are now getting the ash from the fires north of us. Fortunately because of the fog there is no smoke smell. As I rode home yesterday I could see the ash falling. :(

Good morning from cool and windy Lake Mary. The hummers are going crazy this morning with the cool weather. The fights at the feeders are a sight to behold. It's dangerous to step outside. rofl

The eagles have put on great shows this week. Two days ago when we walked around the lake the male :soar: swooped down over us and then made a few circles over the upper end of the lake and splash he took a fish and went up on a dead branch to eat. Then the female :soar: came gliding over and landed on the ridge behind us.

Yesterday Wes and I had to go to town and as I walked out the front door a very large shadow went over me. I looked up and there is the female :soar: flying right over me. Be still my heart. <3 We could see her circling around the upper end of the lake just beyond the trees in front of the cabin so raced to an open spot but couldn't find her. Suddenly a large shadow went over me again and there she was right above me. She made 4 circles at tree top height right above me. :><: She appeared to be looking at me. She then went up on the ridge and landed in a tree. :<<>>: Soooo exciting!

The female has missing feathers on her left wing. It's a very noticeable gap. Have no idea what could have happened. We haven't noticed it until yesterday. Any ideas?

:bday: :bday: Happy Birthday to the birthday people. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Sandie - I love your place setting. You can come to my house anytime and set the table. Beautiful job. :><: :><:

Vina - Glad to hear that you were able to get out with Tom for lunch. Keep up the good work.

UPDATE: on Eagle #08-887 August 7, 2009

by Dr. Dave McRuer, Director of Veterinary Medicine

This week, it was time for another coping on the Norfolk eagle’s beak. The lower jaw had grown out substantially since the previous coping and the upper beak appeared slightly more laterally displaced. That said, this certainly hasn’t stopped the little guy from eating! I’ve included several pictures of #08-887 before the coping. Several focus on him in his current enclosure; others are close-up shots of his beak from different angles. The coping went very well and the recovery from anesthesia (using Sevoflurane……wonderful stuff for eagles) was uneventful — just how we like it!

well for those interested, there is a michael vick dog chew toy . Apparantly they had one of him in his falcons uniform, one of him in jail stripes and now an eagles uniform. Hmm if i had a dog, i could see feeding him one of those with the jail stripes to sink his teeth into but....

edited: I do not own a dog and i do not think that Scope or Listerine comes in a beef flavored mouthwash for dogs

I would post an image of the chew toy but i dont want anyone to have severe stomach discomfort upon viewing it. For those who are masochists, you can go to vickdogchewtoy dot you know the rest. ...Maalox sold separately

<::: For your convienience a comfort bag is located behind the monitor in front of you
