Good morning Peeps. Sad to hear of the loss at W.E. and T.R. yesterday. I know they have a 50% chance, but it still hurts to hear of a loss. LaLa I mean what are you using to protect the walls you painted when you do the baseboard. That Painter's Tape is another good idea for that. I use to use an old slat from a blind. Sandie glad you are feeling better. You have been through a lot lately. |

I have a video that folks may find interesting - the Saanich new nest had an interesting visitor - an American kestrel: American Kestrel on Saanich Nest Quiz: can anyone tell whether this bird is a male or female and why?

Good morning Cruzers. Just read the Catalina Update. What a beautiful morning here. We had a bit of a break in the hot and humid temps yesterday and last night was perfect for sleeping. Low temp of 50. I slept really good last night. Heat and humidity coming back today though, but I'm not complaining. Summers are too short here. |

Ian - thanks for sharing the video of the Kestral. I have no clue whether it's a male or female though. It doesn't stay still long enough to really get a good look at it. So I'm going to just take a guess and say male??? It did have some pretty color to it. Ok Cruzers I haven't shared a song of the day for you all in a while. Hows this one? LOL. Wonder how many of you will be singing the verse the rest of the day  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FXKyQUE-BI |

You're on the right track, the color is a clue.

eaglepedia revisited March 29, 2007 Eagle Hunting/Eating (part III): A bald eagle can go several days without eating but it may not be able to hunt effectively in order to survive. The carcass of a seal is a large food supply and can feed a group of eagles for days, providing rich fat and protein. However, the calories gained from such a feast will be lost in fighting over the food. http://www.baldeagleinfo.com/eagle/eagle3.html ![]() Visit Eaglepedia DISCLAIMER: Information here has been gathered in good faith from the internet and cannot be guaranteed to be totally accurate. |

Harpo I agree. It is very heartbreaking and sad, but I'm sending up a lot of prayers and mantles to our eagles for their safety and well being.
