A35 hasn't been seen since about the end of June so presumably she's moved on. I miss her and wish someone somewhere would report a sighting of her. I keep thinking maybe she'll show up at one of our local lakes. |

Just had an up personal and close encounter with a red tailed hawk...rounded the hedge to the back yard when up out of the hedge flew the RTH...I scared him and he scared me!!! Lots and lots of loud thunder going on here and I love it...it's only a tease...just rumblings but will produce no rain...we need rain so desperately...maybe east of us will get some rain but for us just thunder. I love your "Oh, great-a flat" cartoon, Peetie!!! Chiquita |

I've seen this fellow/gal 5 times this summer from my apartment balcony. I live beside the beginning of a series of lakes in the city of Dartmouth. He/she's been catching thermals while he/she's been hunting on the lakes. Made my summer!!! I've nick-names him/her Nova, for obvious reasons. Click to make bigger. ![]() ![]()

Just about ready to go. I am not going to take the battery grip for the D80/90 since i do not expect to be shooting that many rapid action sequences. The way it looks now, i shal be taking a 35-70mm, 80-200mm and the digital camera only 18-55mm. I do not see why i would need my macro lens nor the super long 500mm nor the nikon 2x converter. But..ill bring one extra battery just in case My initial thought is to take two bodies , the d90 and d80 and have the short zoom on one and the mid range 80-200 on the other. I wont take that many memory cards with me but i will have back up cards for both bodies because nothing can ruin a parade worse than having a memory card suddenly die on you. Having never shot an event such as this before , i have to plan for contingencies. Of course, photographer's first rule is "the one lens or camera you want for that shot is the one you didnt take with you!" This is a "given" and hence why its the first rule.Edited: I am still figuring how to take that speical item with me for you. I am not sure i would want to wear it and you wouldnt like my cooties and they prefer to inbreed anyway.
