Well, it actually took about 1 hour 10-15 minutes each way. But the tracking site only gets the radar tracks from the large radar centers. So while I am under Santa Barbara and Mugu radar control it doesn't show. You can see that the track stops somewhere near Point Dume. That's where Mugu 'hands me off' to SoCal Approach, or visa versa. It's still fun to see that little line and know that it represents me & my plane and a great flight. At John Wayne it isn't the number of flights that's the issue, it's the SIZE of aircraft that I get to mix it up with. This trip was with an experienced instructor. I wanted to get some experience before I do it by myself later this week. Those big guys create enough 'wake turbulence' to turn me upside down if I get too close. So I just won't get too close.
