I, too, am sad that Buddy will face a life in captivity, rather than freedom. However, he will be treated well, and he never would have had a chance at life in the wild. Because he is so used to humans, it sounds like he will make an excellent educational bird. I am sure that he will be loved by lots of people for many years ahead.

Click on image to get story on video (2:05)

"The eagle continues to be housed in some of the Center’s outdoor pens, including significant periods in the largest flight pen – 100 feet long. Center rehabilitation staff monitor the bird’s status daily; Center veterinarians complete a formal evaluation every week. Every two to three weeks, on an as-needed basis, the bird’s beak is trimmed.

The WCV will now begin a process to determine, in Clark’s words, “the best placement for this young eagle” – recognizing that he will continue to need frequent beak trims and appropriate housing. For the time being, the Norfolk Bald Eagle will be housed in a large outdoor pen adjacent to some of the Center’s education animals. "

I think Buddy is going to be a great :<<>>: ambassador, particularly since he is imprinted on people. He is definitely going to have the best possible life under the circumstances. Hopefully he will stay at WCV because now that Justus is over the :^^^: they need a new educational bird :D

Good morning! Well, what's left of it  Only 11:30 here so technically it still is morning :D That baby kestral is adorable! Glad they were able to rescue it from the Godpidgeon and his cronies! Holy cow! Gangs are hitting all walks of life! rofl rofl

We have a beehive in the tree outside of our classroom. Its right next to the walk-thru gate that we use to get to our classroom from the parking lot, and our classroom is right there. Was talking to the head custodian as I was leaving on my lunch break and he said he doubted they would come very soon to take care of it. And no, they don't kill the bees. They get a beekeeper to take them someplace else. Hope they come soon because my boss has an anaphylactic allergy to them! :8O: I have only been stung once in my life so I have no idea if I have an allergy to them but we do have kids with allergies, also. Will see. Otherwise, we can get our parents to complain. Then something will get done ;)
