Egads, if you go for the shot, just make sure it is at least 80 proof I feel your pain, when i shattered my collarbone where it joined the shoulder i was on "industrial strenghth" narcotics. My luck had it that it was also on the same side i sleep and the doc told me to sleep on the other side. Do they realize we are creatures of habbit? No matter what i did, pillows ,leaning against a wall by the bed,and other tricks, I could not convince my thick mind that i am to sleep on my left and not my right side. I still have a minor annoyance when sleeping on my side or if i extend my arm up to touch the ceiling. Its not fun. Just hope i am never held up at gunpoint and told to keep my hands up for a prolonged period May your pain post doctor visit be gone harpo! (crossing all twelve fingers and toes for a good outcome)

Hi everyone! Yesterday, got my new inside DSL/phone line installed. The guy said that here, the humidity and sea salt air can really do a number on all power lines. It is now plugged in one foot from the computer! I am fully back on line for the first time in three weeks! I am a winner! I belong to the IWS. My name was also drawn - and I posted a note about it over on the IWS chat site.I will cherish this always! Was up last night late. We got the computer line installed. Then ran off to the Tuesday night jam session. Wow! We had so many musicians come in! One couple showed up for the first time in ages. "Miss Kitty" (the wife) is recuperating from recent open heart surgery. A month or two ago, she was not doing well. She is finally getting up and out and getting her energy back. Both she and her husband sing, and he plays a special harmonica. She wasn't sure how she was going to sing, but got up and I could see after she sang the first line, her body and soul got into the song and she did great! Everyone gave her a special round of applause! Medicine for the soul. Got home about 9:30 last night. Fixed a light dinner and when DH checked his interests on the computer and headed for I made a bee line for Chat to catch up on what I had missed. More later!Have a great day! |

Marti the jam session sounded like it was fun and "the right mediciine"! What instrument do you play, and what kind of music did you jam to? |

Hi Jeanne They get into a little bit of everything. But mostly it is Country, with a little Gospel as well. A couple of the guys could give Frank Sinatra a run for his money. A very diverse group. Most are over 50 or 60 and the wives of the musicians usually come as well. A few of us bring goodies. Last night, it was a party tray of sandwiches from the local Grocery Deli. Another lady brought celery sticks stuffed with cream cheese and also peanut butter! (I haven't had those in ages!) Mmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmm Also, the big candy bowl, and our friends take charge of the sodas and bring their ice chest on wheels with ice for the sodas. Food for the soul AND the tummy.

Oh oh ohhhhhh! Forgot to mention... I am taking lots of video and photos, both with IWS and the jam sessions. I can fill up 8 gigs in one night! (trying to capture each of the musicians more than once and put together a fun CD for them!) Was stumped. Too much data. Even for my external drive the way I was accumulating it! Went down to Wally World - and problem solved! Got a second external drive... But not just any external drive! You have heard of megabytes.... And gigabytes. I have my first Terabyte!!! "When referring to disk drive capacity, one gigabyte equals one billion bytes. and one terabyte or TB equals one thousand billion bytes." In other words, I think that's a LOT of disk space. I am going to organize into three catagories - Personal, IWS and Music. I want to do subdirectories for the music - by musician. This will be fun! Now all I need is the time to edit videos.....

Deb, George, hope you are feeling better. My DH has a saying that I like.... "I hate pain - It hurts too much" |
