That Pool Cage at O.W.L. sounds like it will be a great way for Bandit and the other raptors to learn how to fish Carole

Topa, I love seeing the weather reports and your graphics too. You "put a song in our hearts" too. I wish those people would evacuate. for Mt. Wilson. That looks absolutely terrifying. Penny thank you for the firefighter graphic. I have an extra special place in my heart for firefighters as you all know. A Pool cage. How cool is that. Can't wait to see the pool when it's finished. Bandit and others will be so lucky. Hope you all stay safe from the fires. Please be safe and evacuate if you have to.

I have survived my appointment with Dr Will I Pullem DDS this am. But there was good news and then there was bad news. First the good news. He successfully removed one molar and said he may be able to place a post in another and place a crown onto it. Now the bad news. He did not like the looks of the one back molar and said he didnt want to attempt to yank it out for me. Instead he referred me to an oral surgeon to dig the broken tooth out of my head. hooboy, $$$$$ for sure |

Glad to hear you survived the dreaded DDS George. At least he knew his limitations and decided to refer you to an oral surgeon instead

Even in Oxnard, the ash was all over my car when I left work last night. We have some clouds and more humidity today. There were actually sprinkles in the fire area, part of a hurricane near Cabo San Lucas. Unfortuntely, most are verga, and not hitting the ground.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the animals in peril, and people and their homes. My heart is heavy with these fires. My best friends home is still under structure protection, the fire kicked back and is heading toward the 5 homes on her road. She's at the top of Big Tujunga Canyon at the entrance of Angeles Crest Highway. She has no idea when she'll go home. They say containment by Septmber 15th!

I just got off the phone with a friend from Ojai that is staying at her cabin at Lake Tahoe... she was so excited as she had a bear come into the garage and open the refrigerator.. take out a package of blueberry muffins.. walked into the middle of the street and sat and ate them.... she says she always has the garage door down, but missed doing it after her husband left this morning.. she took pics but not too good at emailing them... I know the bears are a problem up there and you should not give them any food... they break into houses all the time....

I was at Mina's house once when we were doing the cookbook... she lives in a real neighborhood, with lots and lots of houses between her and the mountains... if it gets to her house then there really is a horrible disaster in the making... |
