Also Monday, flames moved closer to the Wildlife WayStation, an exotic animal preserve in the Little Tujunga area. In media interviews Monday afternoon, sanctuary officials pleaded for help transporting more than 200 animals -- including lions, tigers and bears -- to safety. Soon, a long line of trucks showed up to pick up the animals -- including an 18-wheel Budweiser truck.

"It was a huge taffic jam," Jerry Brown, the station's publicist, told the Los Angeles Times.

This shows how people truly care about our critters. :)^ [/b]

Vickie have never heard the term Verga before. ventura is again cloudy and I believe it is not fog this time but actuall clouds with percipattion in them.

George I'm glad you were able to get one tooth taken care of. Yes, the other one will be $$$ but if your teeth are basically in good shape save them. Mine have never been very good. I have probably spent over 40K on mine. And they are rotten suckers. Do what Cricket and the dentist tells you so you don't get dry socket. You'll never forget that pain.

Wow what great quarters for Bandit.

Lala glad to know Mina's more safe than we thought....but we do have a seriouis problem. Can only hope it stays safe. I guess it could be worse it could be closer to us.

Laurie.....firemen  me too!!!

DD is moving today :ok: :)^ She can hardly breathe she is so excited. I know the feeling.

I guess you move lions and tigers very carefully. I'm sure they are very worried when they smell fire too. It's instinct. They said this morning the home where they filmed ET is in the way of the fire but saved so far. :X:

Got to do homework. TODAY!!!

Is that a different animal sanctuary from Shambala Vickie? When Tippi Hedron was interviewed earlier this morning she did not mention that. She only said the fire fighters were on her property with their trucks to protect her animals.

I went to Tahoe on vacation with a friend of mine. Our cabin reservations got mixed up and the whole place was full. We debated trying to get a hotel room until we saw the prices.....yikes!! So we decided to sleep in the car outside the cabin. I was vigilant all night because of bears.....my friend did not believe me cause we were so "close to residents". I had a can of mace the whole night in my hand. I did not sleep either. Later we went to visit a friend and she was complaining about the bears in the neighborhood. My friend turned a whiter shade of pale.

Penny it was strange for me yesterday too....My Sat dish gave me only a pink screen. It was very strange. Hope the electricity stays on for you.

Good for Budweiser and others coming to the aid of the animals. Too bad they can't save the wild ones too. Breaks my heart poor little things.

Even with the cars headed out the driveway....you have to compete with others doing the same thing. I'm outta there as soon as they tell me!!

Regarding animals in fire, when I was about 12, we had a horrible brush fire...it burned from the north San Fernando Valley to Paradise Cove in Malibu. I had horses, and the fire overcames us during evacuation of all the horses. It was horrible, we had to put wet towels over their faces and ours just to breath. There were exploding oak trees everywhere, sending cannonball sized embers in all directions. I'll never forget that! This was in September 1971, and that same February, we had the Sylmar Quake, being evacuated for 10 days, and then longer while our home was put back together. Moral of my story, I'll never live in the hills again! 1971 was a horrible year for a 12 year old kid.

Yes Penny, a totally differnet wildlife refuge. So many of these poor animals need help. I pray for the wild animals in the forests, may God watch over them.

Watching them do a backffire right now and it is amazing. It really looked like this house was going to burn but all the firefighters surrounding the area was just incredible. Thinking about how it must have looked to the homeowner if watdhing too just like we did in Santa Barbara.

Vickie just heard your Verga word on TV. New word for me!! I love new words.

Good afternoon, Cruzers. Just got back from treatment and I think I need a nap.

My thoughts and prayers are with all near the horrible fires. Special prayers for the fire fighters.

They decided a few days ago not to try to evacuate and relocate the Shambala animals....stating it would be a logistical nightmare to evacuate 64 large animals. I'm sure glad they are there ready to defend and protect them if at all possible. So I'm curious about the Wildlife Waystation....where ARE they going to take 200 animals??? I hope it's for a very very short time and they will soon be back "home". I can't imagine what it must be like for wildlife.

Just heard Ketchup is good to help prevent cancer. Something to do with licopenes Any processed tomatos!!!

Calcium and Vitamin D is good to help with PMS

A good food to help get rid of cholesterol is Pinto Beans!!!

Cottage cheese is ok to eat during pregnancy. No alfalfa sprouts!!!!

A spider plant can help purify the air and sucks up toxins and mold spores
