Cooking tomatoes is supposed to release more lycopenes than raw ones...I think. All plants help purify the air. I used to do that for a living...installed and maintained living plants in banks, restaurants, and offices back in the '80s. Then there was a big swing to silk plants because they didn't have to be maintained. A lot of offices are going back to live plants to help clean the toxic crud out of the air that computers generate....a much better, greener solution than air purifying machines. And having green plants around a person's desk makes them feel happier, too. I wonder if Spider plants are better at removing mold spores than others? I've never heard that but am going to check that out as I'm allergic to mold. |

Patti not sure either. They were displaying a spider plant and talking about it so not sure. They just announced they are evacuating a wildlife center in Angeles Nat'l forest. They did not specify other than that so not sure which one. They just showed a little deer running in all different directions looking for a way out.

George...Good to hear your regular dentist chose to refer you to an oral surgeon for the removal of that molar. Lower molars each have two roots and upper molars have three roots apiece. Sometimes a root can break off and leave the tip of the root...you never want to leave a tip. A good oral surgeon and a couple of good x-rays and you'll be outta there in no time. The Angeles Nat. Forest fire is really awful...largest fire in L.A. County in nearly 100 years. If anyone remembers the Yellowstone fire many years ago much of that area was left to burn. I heard that in some areas they are letting this one in ANF do the same thing. I believe everything in their power will be done to save Mt. Wilson. Also, a disturbing note from a radio report last night...some of the Mexican Cartel have inflitrated ANF and it is heavly ladened with marijuana farms...some of the perimeters are booby trapped...below the canopy of the trees, these farms are very difficult to see. Just heard that the world's oldest dog died at 21 yrs old. He supposedly liked chocolate. Thought that was not good for doggys??? The news finally gave a reason that made sence to me about the grounded Canadian super scoopers. If they use those on the area where the foschek was used the water will wash it all away....yikes!!! News also said the weather has nothing to do with the Baja hurricane. Lots of people have claimed that but Cal Fire meterologist says no. HMMM???? It's like a doctor's diagnosis. Depends on who you talk to I guess. Thanks Jann....how you doin? |

Siobhan has been acting very strangely since last night...I actually slept on the couch in the den with her and she kept me up the entire night She was acting just like she does when there is a storm coming. Both DH and I have suddenly experienced some arthritic pain over the last few days too and a friend told us today that he has the same problem with his Bursitis...he said he blames it on the barometric pressure changes. Neither DH nor I have ever had this happen to us before Right now it is 76F, with no bad weather on the horizon for the entire rest of the week.

Poor George....i so very empathize with you having been there so many unwanted times. Chocolate is also a slick idea!!! Penny I'm glad you posted that. I have "issues" with my right side and the other day I woke up and it felt like someone shoved a nail in my left ankle. And a friend of mine had the same issue. I wonder if it really is something to do with the pressure of the environment. |

21 years old. My dog lived to nearly 23, guess my dog is the worlds oldest dog. He was just 3 months shy of being 23. I sure loved that little guy! |

I dont do chocolate due to sugar control problems, but i did pick up a batch of kozy shack , "Snot" aka "fisheye" pudding that many should know as tapioca which doesnt seem to shoot my sugars up as much. I am going to have to watch my blood sugar and modify my insulin basal rate if i have any problems. Fortunately, I have enough experience with controlling my sugars to do this without having to bother my doctor for suggestions. So I will just pop the antibiotics on schedule and the pain pill as needed

George are you saying that an antibiotic and/or a pain pill will cause your blood sugars to fluctuate??? I'm asking because my mother who will be 89 on Nov. 3rd is a diabetic but she is not on insulin. Lately, she has been taking some pain meds for her arthritis and she seems to be feeling not quite up to snuff. |
