With our cameras showing empty nests save for the mini maid cleaning crews from time to time, the Alcoa Aussie Falcon camera now shows 4 eggs in the scrape. When the eyasses hatch we may have just enough viewing pleasure until our eagles start their nestorations in December Of course one has to be a night owl to view the alcoa cam as there is at least a 9 or 10 hour time difference

Marti how did a staph infection get there thru cigaretts and alcohol? I don't quite understand but irregardless she needs some healing prayer for you for her family and for everyone else around her. What a horrible thing to happen Today I'm going to ask for a little help from everyone too. Last night Paul called me to tell me his son was in a car accident. He works for a towing company and last night he was hit by a 16 year old's car while putting another car his tow truck. The boy ran. There were three CHP officers at the scene. Two went in pursuit of the kid and one stayed with son. A CAR HIT HIM.....HELLO. CHP did not call for help. Three ribs and a nasty bruise on his back later he is driving himself to the hospital. I am seriously upset. GGGRRRR!!!! Sorry to vent here but for goodness sakes that's ridiculous. Ribs hurt. And they can puncture your lung.....OK I'm done. Got to get things together and go to DD to help her move. Loading up on pain killers for me and her. I'm not sure how we are going to get her stuff moved but it will come together. Hope her roommate will help us on the weekend. I have to work Saturday. I'll check in later.

Hopefully the 16yr actually has a license AND INSURANCE or at least his parents do to cover the injuries. I know on the NEST coast with some drivers it is a proverbial russian roulette to find out if the person hitting you has insurance and those who dont normally run from the scene. As for staph, it can get in any bodily opening whether a cut, scrape, needle mark or other means. I think the reason that alcohol and tobacco use helps incubate staph is that those who are heavy users have thier immunity compromised. In the early days as a pumper, i was prone to site infections from staph where the infusion set was inserted into my abodmen. They were not the thin and flexible cathers they use now when you get an IV but your typical metal needle which sticks into and under the skin. The needle would cause irritation at the site and then things would fester and staph would come to visit me. Lucky for me, we were able to get rid of the infection with a strong antibotic called "Keflex". If it were allowed to take hold and spread the infection can get into the bones and really reck havoc. Hopefully the infection will be cured with perhaps iv antibiotics and other treatments. My best wishes Sandie on a speedy recovery from the banged up ribs and other trauma . |

Sandie - I am appalled that an ambulance wasn't called immediately to the scene of the accident. Driving yourself to a hospital with injuries is not acceptable in my opinion. He should lodge a complaint against the police department. Prayers going to Paul's son for a speedy recovery.

I didn't fall off the face of the earth (yet) - just busy at work and lots of family issues to deal with Many of you know my mom has alzheimers and is still living alone but recently we've all noticed some major changes so what we've been putting off, now must be attended to. We're looking into assisted living for her which will improve her situation tremendously - of course we know she's not going to cooperate or want to make the move but ....... Last spring I made a trip home and we arranged to have meals delivered to her which have been great and she's actually gained a couple pounds! she also has someone come in 2 x's a month to do some cleaning. I'm hoping we can pull this together and convince her that it's all for the best but I'm not hopeful I can't even tell her I'm coming and I won't be able to visit her because of her reaction so...... Anyway - and my meds really kicked me yesterday (the one for the tendonitis) - I was very sick to my stomach and super duper headache soooooo I didn't take last night's dose and may not take the one for tonight! We'll see.But I'm AOK - just busy and will get caught up! to all of those who need and I did get to read the updates! Go Steff and Steph and Hmmmm maybe we need a little "gal" for Stephanie!
