Just returned from the oral surgeon. Had not one but two teeth pulled. It took her awhile a twistin and a turnin those retractors but she popped the nastiest one out with minimal discomfort to me. However she did not like the adjacent tooth and said it should go too. Cricket should know which ones by their number. Monday's were 14 and 13 and todays were #2 and #3.

Still not sure what i am going to eat now but i snagged some instant oatmeal, yogurt, cream of wheat and extra eggs. Hopefully i can return to my normal gluttony in a few days. :X: I do have to work on my middle aged spread after all since i dont have one nor even a spare tire :'( rofl

I forgot to get the container of the Kozy Shack Snot/Fish eye/tapioca and Rice puddings but...that i shal tomorrow.

Here is an update on the boys who walked across the West End nest . . .

Quote:
In other news: an update on the West End nest intruders. They have been charged with misdemeanors through the city, and for the federal offense, USFWS gave them several hours of community work in the form of educational presentations. They have to prepare a power point presentation and talk about the bald eagle program, the island fox program, the island’s ecology, its native and invasive plants, island regulations, etc. The young men met with me to talk about the eagle program and with Conservancy biologists and botanists to find out about the rest. They will present this at their own camp and several other campgrounds on the island.

I think they got off really EASY!

George you probably know the routine by now. Nothing hot, nothing cold, no swishing or heave rinsing, no smoking, no sipping using a straw. Any and all of these will cause a Dry Socket and trust me you do not want one of those. You may have some seepage overnight on your pillow.

If bleeding continues wet a Tea Bag, wring it out and bite on it. The Tanic Acid in Tea will stop the bleeding.

My last patient is an E.R Nurse, and a 91 y/o lady beat her up this morning! She got kicked and has a dislocated thumb, which she set herself!

Peetie have a wonderful time and I hope you have a safe trip.

Deb, great news – 4 days off! I would not, however, be too hasty in retracting everything. LOL

George, probably just as well to get it all over at once. Hope you are back to your old self soon.

Good idea to reward yourself

It really isnt a reward but a necessary evil for me. Since chewing is going to be a problem for a few days, i had to think of something i could easily consume without aggrevating the holes in my upper jaw.

As a diabetic on insulin, i need to have some carbohydrates for the insulin to work on or else i get into serious potentially life threatening "insulin shock" which was the old term for it, now the common term for severe low sugars is a "hypoglycemic event".

The thing is a severe low sugar will kill you alot faster than a super high blood sugar. I was told that a diabetic in severe hypoglycemia is given priority when triaged over even those with a heart attack. I really cant say and hope i never have to find out :X:

The foods i have gotten have both simple and complex carbohydrates in them to hopefully keep the blood sugars out of danger.

Now if i were wanting a reward, a nice 80 proof bottle of IP would work. Alas, I dont even THINK of consuming IP when i am on such things as oxycodone or hydrocodone narcotic pain pills. I do not want to end up a vegetable on a respirator from that combo

In our paper this morning on the front page above the fold is the story and picture of the two newest additions to the new $45 million Elephant Odyssey exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. A week ago, two former circus elephants, Jewel and her longtime buddy, Tina, came to EO. Both are Asian elephants in their 40's and have various health problems and were taken from a circus operator in Leggett, Texas. Jewel has added 300 pounds and her buddy has added 185 pounds. The new EO has a "special needs" barn where the elephants can live comfortably while veternarians nurse them back to health.
