"The Jackson family has an after-party scheduled to begin right after Michael Jackson's funeral tonight -- a party they're calling a "Celebration of Life." The family will go straight from the Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale to a place called Villa Sorriso Ristorante -- an Italian joint in Pasadena. The restaurant's Executive Director of Operations has confirmed that Randy Jackson made the reservation several days ago and "bought out the facility for the night." The exec also tells us several members of the Jackson family have been regulars at the place for years. We're told the restaurant is expecting around 275-300 people to attend." ![]() This is the same restaurant we celebrated my DH's Birthday in April !!! The food is really great...especially the mussels

Well, i too am going to call it a night. I think the fun of having the extractions today was a tad too much for me. As good ole "Sylvester" would lisp, Thufferin Thucatash NYTOL! I may plop back in every few hours as i get up to check on the blood sugar levels so you all may see me again even at ungodly hours here in the east. |

I don't know if Elaine posted this, but just in case she didn't- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7deClndzQw The main tank called the 'Kuroshio Sea' holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank. There are a couple humans in there, too. |

Thanks, Artsy Mom, for the additional info on Jewel and Tina. This info was also included in the newspaper article this morning..."Veternarians are most concerned about the too skinny Jewel, whose ribs and shoulder bones were visible beneath her leathery skin upon arrival in San Diego. It appears that Jewel needs at least two operations. One of the elephant's teeth is mishaped, leaving her unable to chew or digest food correctly. Both elephants have foot problems." Chiquita |

Penny...sorry if you all already knew the sex of the baby panda. I haven't had time to watch the cam so it was news to me so I thought it would be for everyone. You probably haven't noticed but I have only been able to post about once or twice and usually it seems to be after everyone has already left for the night. Deb you are so lucky to have a 4 day but I am actually grateful to be working since there is A/C at work and I don't have it at home. It's been mostly in the high 90's/low 100's contrary to what the news reports. I have a thermometer at my house in the shade and it always a lot higher than what the news reports. Jim also has a heat gun and he is able to measure the temp with it and he told me last night he's been doing so several times during the day and it got over 100 several days. Yeah, its hotter where Jann is but we don't get heat like this here being as close to the ocean as we are so we don't have A/C. Right now at 8:15 pm it is still 82. Tho I like the way it feels outside right now its hotter inside my house so uncomfortable for sleeping. Would be very nice to have the day off, tho I do have Monday off

Those poor elephants probably think they've died and gone to elephant heaven I noticed the vets were paying particular attention to their feet in the video. In any case, they will be able to eat to heart's content and enjoy being with others of their kind and do elephant 'fun' stuff like play in the water with the rest of the elephant herd.

Jean/Whispy, it all goes back to this joke I shared on the forum a couple years ago: By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished." So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bottle of Kahula, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the apple pie, some Doritos and a Snickers bar. You have no idea how peaceful I feel right now. |

Yikes, Karen. I don't know how you're surviving right now without any a/c. We didn't have a/c when I lived in La Mesa.....and I remember how miserable it was those first 2 weeks of September when we had the Santa Anas. As you said, we're somewhat used to it here in Riverside.....and I do use the a/c, even though I get tired of having to hibernate inside for so long. p.s. I've found that our thermometers are frequently several degrees higher than what "they" say our temperature is here too. |
