Jeanne, you are lucky to have that in the back yard... sweet kitty....

One of the more benign guests - I'm happy it didn't move on to my potted tomato plant!

The Station Fire, named because of its proximity to a nearby USFS Ranger Station has burned over 242 square miles of land within the Angeles National Forest and near surrounding foothill communities of La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Acton, Soledad Canyon, Pasadena, Glendale and Sierra Madre.

The reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual/s responsible for setting it is now $100,000.

Penny, I love your 'Hummer of the Day'... I have a hard time with them as they are very shy and won't get too close to me.. but I have feeders on both sides of the house and my population keeps growing...I would have to spend a long time sitting to get a good picture and don't have the patience...

Linda Deejay said "I keep my camera set up on a desktop tripod and aimed out my window.
This day I was able to get some pretty good photos" :)^

nice shot TACK sharp! MY-T-FINE
Very Effective use of Depth of field to reduce any distractions in the background to make the web, bug and spider pop out visually! :)^ :)^ :clk:

Guess this gives new meaning to a Wrap Sandwhich rofl

Penny's hummer pictures reminds me of this shot - I don't think I posted it before?? It was at a friend's house and we were hanging out and this hummingbird was flying around between all the flowers. At one point it got interested in us and literally landed on the rock right next to me. It stayed there a while - very cool!

nice red birdy shot there! Love the shot of Mr and Mrs Finch! I have been hoping to get one shot of a Goldfinch hen but have yet to be able to get a decent shot of the female goldfinch :'( She seems to be very camera shy and flighty and doesnt seem to want to pose for me.

The female for me has been an ongoing quest over the past 4 or 5 years. I feel like Don Nikonixote but i dont have my Sancho Japanza to help me with my quest rofl

Good morning Peep's.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend no matter how long it is for you.

Deb I would imagine your bro would be safer in the bigger truck then in a smaller one. Tell him not to worry about the cost of gas as we pay for that. Stay safe in the big clunker, and thank him for his sacrifices for all of us.

LaLa incredible Moon Shot. Our moon was also obstructed by whispy clouds, but the night sky was beautiful last night. Hopefully tonight will be better for viewing it,.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Luna the Orca. Even though it reminded me of Keiko whom I followed his entire life. I was rooting so hard for him to win his Freedom, but I think he was just one of those creatures that we waited too long to release. He should have never been captured to begin with.
