One of our patients took her Budgies out on her patio to enjoy the Summer air and sounds of other birds. She wasn't aware the door was ajar on the cage and they both got out on her! The male returned the following day when he heard her calling him. She caught him, and put him in the cage with his 3 babies. The mother was spotted in her area, but never came back home. It's going on 4 weeks now. The patient plays bird's on her stereo every day hoping she will return to her mate, and little ones but no such luck. In the meantime the father has taken over feeding his brood. Diane said he is a very good father to them since Mom left. I look out the window searching, but so far no luck. She has very unusual markings so she should be easy to spot. Hopefully she'll be captured before the Winter sets in. |

Wow, Lala, look at that spider!!! Great shot!! Ever year I seem to have one that likes the spot near the diningroom window so I have close up viewing of him each evening. This year, however, the spider makes a mad dash for cover if I turn the light on so that I can see it better. Apparently, when I turn on the light, he must think it is daylight and goes into hiding...turn the light back off and he reappears!!! Such a variety of birds at all those feeders!!! Chiquita |

I hope she puts an ad in her local paper about the missing bird and pastes up flyers with a picture around the neighborhood Cricket Just yesterday a young amazon parrot flew in the open window of a downtown apartment here. There was a pic in the paper...it ended up at a bird fanciers apartment in the same building until the owner shows up to claim it. ![]() Baby Parrot Rescued Click for video (1:26) |

I got very lucky this morning! Much to my surprise, I am going to be able to shoot major league baseball again on October 1! The Phillies will be playing the Houston Astros The reason I say I got lucky is because The Philadelphia Phillies have had so far 55 complete sell outs. I had just about ruled out obtaining a ticket for a good photo seat when I called the Phillies ticket office this morning and told them what sort of seat i wanted for any remaining game available. The agent was very helpfull and informed me that i could have a set behind home plate in mid september. However, i had to decline that one because of the net like backstop which makes shooting difficult. She did more searching and said i could have a seat 15 rows up from right behind the home dugout which is a great position to shoot from. At least for right handed batters. So, I will be viewing the world series champion phillies just 15 rows behind the dugout on october 1. This will be the latest regular season game that i have attended since the last game at the old Connie Mack stadium on October 1, 1970.The reason for my eggcitement is that , if they havent clinched the division by then, there is the possibility they could then. This would be the ultimate shooting opportunity. I will post shots then too. Hopefully, I will be able to get even better shots than this one at the last game i went to here

Penny I bet the bird is in good hands no matter what happens to it. Lala the moon photo did not load for me???? Maybe I didn't give it enough time. But the spider was nice. Glad the girls like bugs. George so glad you are doing better with your teeth. Did I miss what happened at the oral surgeon? You get that taken care of soon I hope. Deb too bad the cash for clunkers program is over  Brother looks like he is well protected in that massive truck. Isn't there pleanty of gas where he is? What happens if he runs out....do they have a version of Auto Club over there? So you are feeling better now? Look out Cache's here she comes!! My neighbor came over last night and apologized for complaining about Bernie. He said he was just in a lot of pain. I asked him if I could move Bernie if that would help and he said no don't do anything I bought some ear plugs and all is fine. Poor guy don't want him to live with earplugs forever. We both said it was better than living next to a Harley. But I feel bad. |

George I love the look on both faces!! Looks like the Philly guy is out tho if that's a ball in the catcher's hand. I especially like the look on the umpire's face. It looks like a cartoon face! Have you ever tried to peddle your wares to them? |

no Shane "The Flyin Hawaiian" Victorino was safe at second beating the tag with a double in that shot. I survived the oral surgeon but two teeth didnt. Lost tooth number 3 and number 2 which are the back molar and i think a pre molar on the upper left side of my piltdown man jaw. I am able to eat now with minimal annoyance but still have to get a partial made for the upper jaw. Sugars have been relatively controlled but again this morning i was up with a low sugar of 46 which is not good living alone like i do. However, now that i am able to eat more conventionally, this should not be a problem for me tomorrow I can not sell baseball shots as all images, descriptions and accounts are the property of major league baseball and the philadelphia philles and i dont have their express permission. They will come down hard on anyone who tries to market images almost as bad as uncle walter does when folks try to steal mickey mouse's likeness for commerical gain |

Wow I am loving all the great pictures everyone is sharing today! They are all wonderful. I didn't realize the moon was so big and beautiful last night. After supper I crashed on the couch after an exhausting first full week back to teaching school. I have quite a few live wires in my class this year. Got up early this morning to take advantage of the cool for Texas 75 degree temps and did a little hiking to find a geocache that is nearby. Found it after a bit of bushwacking through the trees and headed back home before it got too warm. Saw the prettiest rabbit speed by, but no other animals out today. Kind of glad because our area has coyotes, fox and bobcats. I didn't wish to run into any of those out there. |

Bette... it was around midnight and I was exhausted... and the spider was spinning the web under the patio umbrella which was over our heads while we ate...it has lights around the edge which attracted the moth or whatever that little victim was... I took more moon pics this morning and Hoot II was with me for much of the time but he was not in a good position to photograph.. I tried to get the moon and him together... no cooperation from either....he was making strange noises and I was not even sure it was an owl at first, but he finally started hooting....I guess young owls have other little sounds besides the hooting... |

Good afternoon, all. I hope everyone is having the beginning of a great long weekend. Trying to catch up here. Penny, thanks for the beautiful card you posted. I really love Jacquie’s cards. Deb, I am glad you are feeling better. How is the new computer working out? Loved your brother’s photo. Personally, I would love to drive that. Do you think that attitude is why they don’t let me drive anymore? Topa, IWS Swim Team? I love it! Also love the cake. Jeanne, from the back, your kittie looks just like my Kerqui. She was a tortie. Lala, great moon shot!! That spider was incredible. I also liked Hoot. The over the shoulder look is great. George, I know you will get lots of great action shots at the Phillies game. |
