This weekend the raptor migration started at Hawk Hill and I decided to get out right from the beginning this year in hopes of seeing a couple of the species which I've missed the last two seasons because they'd already gone through by the end of September. Yesterday aside from the usual accipiters and occasional RT, we had a peregrine, one kestrel and a merlin, and for the real bonus we had one adult bald eagle. :soar: I am also trying out taking photos if I see anything interesting - I think it's going to take some practice to get better at shooting the birds when they're up overhead. I did get a half decent shot of a red-tail (this is a 1st or 2nd year juvenile) passing overhead - but room for improvement I think.

Thanks! She took online classes thru the NY Institute of Photography and wants to do professional. She has a website and has done a couple of jobs but its hard to get into that business and make money. She'd love to be able to work for Nat. Geographic but who wouldn't? I am very proud of her! |

Lala....yes, she took some amazing shots of the moon awhile back! You could see the craters even. Don't know where she got the gift cause its not from me  I do ok and could probably do better if I had a better camera but can't afford one yet. |

I can see how it would be hard to make a living at it, unless you do portraits. She has a wonderful eye - I hope she is in some sort of art-related profession. Your son is a designer - right? You guys must have some artistic talent in the genes! |

 Yeah, but it skipped me! At least the hands on stuff did. I have the music genes, too, as do they. OH and Jossy started dance class on Sat. She is starting with tap and ballet. Go here to see her pics. http://z7.invisionfree.com/CHIL_EagleCAM/i...39&st=105&#last |

What a cutie Jossy is! I hope she enjoys dance. My daughter is 15 and danced for many years. She was on a competitive team at her studio, but very abruptly decided to give it up this year. I was really shocked. But it is a huge time commitment (as well as $$$), and she felt like if she continued she wouldn't do anything this year besides school, homework, and dance lessons and rehearsals. She decided she wanted a life, too. In some ways I feel bad that she felt she had to give it up, but I think it was a good decision on her part. |
