The power of the internet. I just found my answer: "Some adult males start migrating south as early as mid-July, but the peak of southward migration for this species is late August and early September. By mid-September, essentially all of the Ruby-throated at feeders are migrating through from farther north", Must be my hummers have moved on to warmer temps.

Peetie.Looks like California is out of the picture again for me this year. Dr. Sharpe just told me all the Pimu Tours were Booked, and that is what I won. I have him looking into something else for me. Oh well maybe next year will be better. I'll just go back to Florida again was planning that anyhow, and take the entire family away for a week of fun in the Florida sun! |

Well, no school for me at all today. Thought I'd feel better if I went to lay down....nope. Just worse. And my garbage disposal was plugged up. I made a really great dish and put too many potato peelings and carrot peelings down it. Landlord called someone to unplug it. Let that be a lesson ...... DON'T COOK!!! OK back to bed, tylenol, hot tea and honey and pray! |

It seems like my last hummer was here around the end of September last year too. I think I'll just leave the feeder for a day or two to see (changing the food often of course) You're welcome Sandy. Feel better. |
