Karen - even funnier, I read it and understood it. . .    rofl  rofl  rofl   I really think I need a big I.P. . . .

I read it and understood it, too. I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't commented on it.
Can't post until later tonight, but checking in every so often.
The tributes are really beautiful - Thank you everyone!!

Our dinner is almost ready, so I am going to go for the day. I want to thank everyone for the wonderful and moving words and images today. I lost a cousin in Tower 1 and it was several years before I could even look at any images from 911.

Have a great evening, all.

George, I really, really wish you had been with me today... Estate Sale with lots of old cameras... too many to name.. including your favorite.. Leica $350 camera alone... then Poloroid, Nikkormats, and many more.. lens' too.. but they didn't fit my camera.. five tripods... I bought one for $10.00... a Velbon.. I posted a link...anyway... I left before I got into too much trouble... love my new tripod <3

Opps.. posted a commercial link.. I should know better... you can look it up, a Velbon Maxi 343E weighs less than 2 pounds so easy to put in backpack...

How was the hike?????

Linda, Keep yourself in hiking shape.
We HAVE to hike to the nest next season with our super duper
new cameras to get close ups of the chicks and eagles.. :clk: :ok:

That is my goal.. once this heat is over... I need to get up early and walk...it means too much to me to not hike...

9/11 didn't just affect New Yorkers
9/11 didn't just affect Americans
9/11 affected the world and mankind
We all changed - forever.....

:candle: :candle:

Remembering in my red/white/blue today. Thank you to ES and crew - I've been thinking of you today.

Karen I think that's a lot of what ES feels each day that he is allowed to work on Tower 1 - it would be a special project just for the design alone but for what it represents - it's even more. He appreciates every day that he gets to be a tiny part of the whole. :)^

and we get to live it through him and his pictures... :clk:

Our Vicki here on the forum lost her cousin in the first plane that hit... she's been under the weather but I am thinking of her today as well...

Cat, my condolences... today is especially hard for you and your family.... <3

Estate sales, garage sales and thrift stores...what finds there are if you know what you are looking for. I grew up going to the thrift stores with my mother...she looked for Catalina Pottery and had quit a collection. DS collects old movie projectors...One day I had been to an estate sale a couple blocks from his home and noticed a 8mm projector, in it's case, sitting on the floor in the back of the garage. I raced over to his home and told him to go over and check it out...perfect shape so he got it. Another time I was in a thrift store with my mother and, again, an old projector, still in it's case, sitting on the floor, the most expensive item still working which was the light bulb, perfect condition, $20!!!

Yes, Peetie, the pictures from 9/11 are awfully hard to watch. I fly my flags but can no longer watch the pictures...once was enough for me...just too heart breaking. I must say the one that I am OK with is the one Lala posted showing the dog with his rescue vest on being transported in the air.

One of the memories I have from that day was a female reporter with a camera running from the collapse and smoke which was speeding towards her... a store owner saw her and made her come into his store... she held the camera at the glass windows near the door and it went from light.. to pitch black...in seconds of her coming inside... had he not brought her inside, she would have been overcome.... I believe she cried into the camera while videoing.. "You saved my life"... I felt I was there watching that video...

Chiquita, the other thing I bought was a cash register with play $$ inside... but all looking like the real thing with the right President on the bills, etc... it also added and subtracted... so a real 'teaching toy'... can't wait to drag that out next time I have the girls for the evening... last night we did a 'midnight' parade of animals with flowers and candles...parent's night at the school....
