Whoa...That's some spider!!!

The black and yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia) usually visits my yard about this time each year but neither my neighbor nor I have spotted one this year.

Sandie - Love all the info. Looking forward to :clk:

That is all I have here. The rest are in L.A. Don't know how many I took.

I'm anxious to see if we were standing next to each other. rofl Wouldn't that be funny?

Once you save the pics on your computer, you have to go into Photobucket and upload to there. Then you copy the IMG code and paste in chat box.

Great Sandie :)^ Are these all the return shots?

I love that one where the sun is glinting off the dry lake bed with the Voyager. Also the one in the air in a turn!

I asked myself the same question - Why are they doing a fly by when they are running out of gas????? I guess on the dry lake bed, they could land it anywhere. . . It sure added a little more drama to a tense situation.

Thanks so much for sharing! I didn't see me anywhere.

It certainly was a long time ago! I was not a blonde then either. The picture of me alone shows how freezing it was. And the flyby was grandstanding in my opinion. But that was what Dick was all about! The first ones were during a few test flights. We went up there several times. The last one''s are during the landing. Like you it's something I will never forget. The cameras were sure different back then. Didn't take as many cause we had to develop them and not just delete them. Do you have the book also Marti? Did you ride on the big yellow bus to the flight line? That's how we got there. OH....I'll scan some of the pics from the book....DUH!!!

I went out on the internet thinking there might be a site where someone posted photos of that historic event but to no avail.

I did find a really good photo of the wing damaged from takeoff. Amazing that it went around the world through storms, trials and tribulations and landed safely.

I also found a great photo of Dick and Jeanna.

George do you have any idea what type of spider it is?

The picture of Dexter with the black pup appears to be saying, "why are you riding Dex, your the one who needs the exercise walking!"

GREAT pictures of aircraft and events that unfolded.

Sandie which one is you?
