We're too far inland to get much if any of the benefits from the cooler weather. Granted, it's not triple digit, but it was still 90 here today....with high humidy....so we didn't do much this weekend. We did got to our friend's home so Dave could set up their new laptop so they could take it with them on their missionary trips to Mexico. He heads up teams that build churches, hospitals, etc. While Dave did that, I got to play with their new puppy, Cedes. Cedes is a (beagle-lab) 'designer dog' that was abandoned in their neighborhood. She is such a sweetheart. I can't believe anyone would do such a thing to any do, much less a dog as sweet as this one is! On the way home, we saw this sign and went back to investigate. It's a motorcycle superstore.....then stopped off for some cool refreshment. ![]() The weather should start cooling off enough to go places next month. I'm trying to be patient, but I can hardly wait! (all pics clickable thumbnails) |

I'd never heard of 'designer dogs' before. Evidentally, it's the 'in' thing these days. According to the vet, Cedes is a "Beagador" -- half Beagle & half Lab. All I know is she is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever seen. It was love at first sight!

Sorry Linda, respectfully, I still disagree. If they were going to give Serena a one point penalty for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' or 'racket abuse' they should have done it earlier when she banged her racket into the post. There have been instances in other games in the past where a player could have been penalized but weren't because it would affect the final. I believe this call has never been made at this stage of a match in the semi's of a Grand Slam tournament. Kim Clijsters deserved to have her win and enjoy it after her superb performance instead of having this decision take that away from her. Yes, very unfortunate for it to happen this way...rules were made to be broken in certain special circumstances. It was still wrong IMHO even though Serena was having a nasty 'meltdown' ![]() I really wish I had seen that game!!! |

Thank you, Pat for leting us know. Regan, all my positive thoughts and energy and prayers are going out in your direction now, especially tomorrow morning. Cruzer power! Just imagine this surgery as the perfect answer, and visually guide the doctor's hands as he uses them to correct the problem. |

The MTV Awards are very weird tonight (what else is new?) Lady Gaga will make you either go or gag. A certain very well-known male had to be escorted out of the building for misbehaving when his choice was not the winner and Serena Willams was a very gracious presenter making a slight reference to 'not stepping over the line'

It would seem tennis players have a difficult time keeping their cool. I guess so are MTV people are poor sports. Who would have guessed that
