Hmm, maybe Serena will be come as notorious for her tantrums as john MacEnroe was when he was playing?? Who knows in 20 years we may see an ad with Her and the line judge reconciling like the one with John and the Official for Mastercard wasnt it? rofl

I'm glad folks enjoy our photos of our little outings around the island - I'm happy to share the many places around where we live.

however - it does bother me that some folks can't accept them for what they are - snapshots of a day - not professional photographs for publishing or sale

They are personal captures of a day of fun that we like to share with our friends

I like my photo the way it was - posts - leaning - whatever
It's what I took and what I shared.

If it bothers some that my photo isn't perfect - then don't look at it or I'll just not post them anymore.

please - I don't need nor am I soliciting any comments on my thoughts as posted - just wanted to respond to those who apparently don't think my photos are good enough as is.

I'm going to call it a day :(

i am sorry for that and i shall delete the revision. My attempt was only as a teaching tool. Nothing else. The shot is top quality as it was captured by you!!!

Please dont! My intent wasnt to slam the shot! I loved it!! As well as the rest! I was only viewing them after spending time trying to do something similar to a family shot i had scanned here and only used that as an example of what a handy tool in photoshop could do.

The shot DID not bother me, it was stunningly impressive and a real eye catcher! My "modification" was only meant as an instructional tool, nothing more. I do not want to insult anyone and had no intent at all to insult your shot in any way whatsoever. Of course i often have as much tact as an anvil on the head from a fifth floor window :(

I too have deleted my modification of your shot.

My intent is never to slam another's shot! Having shot for so long, however i am sort of corrupted by wanting to see what makes a shot tick and pop out at me as a viewer. This fiasco caused by me is just another example how one can get several decent images from one captured frame. The key however is the eye of the photographer who took the original image

I hate causing strife like this espeically for not consulting the original shooter. I wont do this stupid stunt again  :boohoo: :hide:

No it is i who violated one of my primary rules and modifed the shot of another without permission. My only intent was to illustrate what can be done to a shot. I am now kicking myself from here to eternity for my stupidity and wont do this stupid stunt again and I hope deb will accept my apology.

PS or the other editing software programs can not make a bad shot good, but if the shooter wants to they can turn a blue ribbon shot into a best of show shot.

The original shot i worked on was a stunning image that popped with the effective lighting used for it with the dramatic sky behind it. Worthy of being contest caliber too

My comment on the use of a grid screen was not directed at anyone or any shot. In the dark ages of film bodied cameras, one would have to insert such a screen as they felt it needed. The grid is only another tool to help frame an image such as with shots of a horizon , of buildings or where you want to do a multiple exposure with another object placed onto the same frame in a certain position. Luckily now with the electronics of the digital cameras alot have a grid screen as a secondary option in ones camera settings. Ive gotten lazy and leave it on all the time now

Regan -- I am praying for a successful surgery on your eye. I know it is difficult to remain positive and not become disillusioned. Stay strong.

Harpo and others who share their photography -- I so much enjoy pictures of your travels and things you do. I like seeing other parts of the country and world. The pictures are a wonderful way to see other places. Please continue to share. It is sort of like a mini vacation for me.
