Morning is here and a new day. Deb I understand both sides. I hope George's apology last night will resonate with you. I don't think anything we ever do here is meant to cause anyone any discomfort. We are all loving humans that can easily be misunderstood. I love your pictures too. Morning Peetie. So glad you enjoyed your vacation and glad to have you back. Good luck at work today. Regan for your surgery this morning. We are all pulling for a succesful procedure. Let us know as soon as you can how things are going. No sleep for me again. Darn it. Dr appt early this am. |

eaglepedia revisited August 6, 2007 In the feather department, to help create more surface area which helps during soaring, an eagle has 4 extra flight feathers over other raptors. The eagle's wing tip feathers are widely separated during flight, looking like "fingers". It is one feature that people use to help identify eagles in flight but when an eagle is flying in a strong headwind or in a rapid descent, the fanned wing tip feathers are collapsed and the individual flight feathers do not show. "Majestic Eagles" ![]() Examples of wing tips coming together - ![]() Examples of wingtip feathers open wide... Good morning, all. My thoughts and prayers are with Regan this morning. I also pray for her speedy and quick recovery. I enjoy so much all the photos that everyone puts up here. I hope people continue to post them, please. |

CatM - I second that feeling. We have been through too much here on the forum to let anything detract from the greater good. It's all about the eagles. And I know everyone who has been posting here is kind and good. Sometimes, we just can't help but sticking the ol' foot in mouth. I do it all the time. What I think is funny may not be for someone else. Just all realize that nothing is intended to be mean spirited. It's just how it can be received...I for one would be sad if all the photos and slideshows disappeared. I have traveled a lot - for work. Haven't really got away for a REAL vacation because of committments. You're all I have. Don't make me
The dragonflys have hit the Coastal Bend here in TX! At first, I thought it was a hummer yesterday. Then more and more of these little critters. This morning, they are all over the place. They are late! The hummers are supposed to be in town. Will they be late too? The hummer festival is this Thursday through Sunday. Will they be late to their own party?

As Regan/Teacherlady undergoes yet another surgery on her eye ... today at 10:00am ... please send her Positive Vibes. As she said yesterday ... "it will help me tomorrow morning to know that good thoughts and prayers are being sent my way". |

Deb I enjoyed viewing your AWESOME shots from your weekend jaunt. Please bring them back for all to enjoy and not punish us. George is very upset with what he did, realizing it caused pain to someone. Please accept his sincere apology so he will return here to the Forum. His sense of humor, his teaching skills, and his own shots will be greatly missed. He regrets what he did, and knows he violated his own rule about not asking first. Deb I just hope I didn't start it all with my comment about the Lighthouse appearing to be leaning to the right. My eyes are bad, and I wasn't sure if it was me or the picture. I'm sorry I mentioned it if that's what started last nights mess. I have never seen a Lighthouse lean like that, and that is why I made the comment. I agree with George it is a spectacular shot for sure! Prayers and a for Regan this morning as she has more Surgery on her eye.
