Busy day today. And I had to wake up at 3:30 with a headache that wouldn't quit. Got a bite to eat and took my MaxStrength X-ed-run, followed by a cup of coffee. Feeling better now. At 8:30, I'm taking the car in for repair. Something broke in the passenger side automatic window thingy. (Wouldn't you know it, as soon as the window control broke, the rains came in. Was able to get it up so the inside of the car didn't get wet! (Problem is, it keeps trying to sneak back down when the car is driven from the vibrations on the road). The shop has the replacement part. Dropping the car off, then walking across the street to meet DH for breakfast at the Diner. I need to work up a draft flyer this afternoon to take to the Music Jam session tonight and coordinate a good time next month for our "pot luck". Our guy that organized this jam gave us a good summer of great music. The end of next month, it ends. That is when the "Winter Texans" return. Someone else will take over. It will be fun, but the summer jam was locals who all know each other and are friends. It was lots of fun. I have taken photos and video. If I can get the time, I plan to put together a fun cd with music and faces. So, mostly on and off for the rest of the day, unless time permits.Have a good one!

Even if we went back in time to the horse & buggy days, there would still be some occasional problems creeping up on us. Robin keeping crossed for you today.Has anyone heard about Regan and how she fared yesterday with her surgery? |

eaglepedia revisited September 19, 2007 The turkey vulture is sometimes mistaken for a bald eagle juvenile because they are similar in size and general coloration. There is a distinction between the two however, which can be seen from a distance - turkey vultures hold their wings somewhat upright - making a shallow "V" when soaring and rock from side to side as they ride the thermals. Bald eagles hold their wings straight out from their body - flat - while soaring with only the tips of the primary feathers curved slightly upward! They also do not rock from side to side as they soar but make broad, sweeping circles as updrafts lift them skyward. At close range, the turkey vulture's small, featherless head which is red in adults and gray in juveniles, makes identification quite simple. http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/nhesp_temp/...acts/halleu.pdf Bald Eagle Soaring ![]() ![]() Turkey Vultures Soaring (living on Long Island next to NYC - we don't see many of these guys so was "duped" a lot on our first visit to CA - eagle eagle eagle - nope turkey vulture!) Thanks for your prayers Laurie and Deb, I sure need them. Woke up this morning feeling a bit better and within 15 minutes couldn't move. Took the Advil and am now going to lie down with the heating pad. My heart goes out to Andie, I can relate well to what she is going through, it's awful. Prayers for her recovery.

Marti, I also loved the kitty this monring. What a sweetheart. Roy and Pat, a good friend of mine who just came back from Gold River, gave me the book called "The Eagles of Hornby Island". I absolutely love it and can't wait to make a visit up there. I also have a brochure about Tofino. What a lovely spot that is. |
