Good morning, all. Today, September 16th is Mayflower Day.

Mayflower Day celebrates the date the Mayflower sailed from Plymouth, England to America. On September 16, 1620, 102 men, women, and children set sail from Plymouth, England. Their destination was the New World, where they could have religious freedom, and continue using their native language, culture, and customs.

Every Mayflower Day, we commemorate these brave, early settlers. They were the very first immigrants, and helped to pave the way for millions more to follow, in search of freedom and the dreams and promises of a New World.

Good morning Cruzers.

I'm thinking that the hummers I had yesterday may be migrators since my feeder went untouched for over a week. So I put the lastof my fresh food in the feeder this morning. I'll leave it out for a few more days.

Today is Update day. :**:

Definitely fallish out today. Possibly a frost tonight. It will make great :clk: soon of the foliage.

Continued healing thoughts for Regan and Carole.

Good morning all :}^

Busy day yesterday. The good news is that I got the window on my Jeep fixed by our local mechanic without cleaning out the bank. So nice to know it won't be causing any more problems if it rains!

DH went to Wally world to have them check a battery on his car. Turns out it was still under warrenty and was bad. They replaced it free of charge. :)^ He started to leave, and didn't like the "feel" of something. Drove back around to automotive to check it out. Added brake fluid. Little Joe who is one of the bosses looked down and checked - said you have a problem with your brake cylinder (it was leaking) :o (on rear left wheel).

Got in the car and headed down for the shop where the Jeep was ready for pickup. Left the other car with brake problem. Turned out it was just a two foot line that had a leak in it and easy to replace. Also, he had a window on the drivers side not functioning just like the Jeep. It is in the shop and hopefully will be ready for today. :)^ :)^

The hummer festival starts tomorrow. :><: I am planning to go Friday or Saturday. It is supposed to be cloudy and cooler those days. Can't handle that sun. The main event is in a building, so should be comfortable.

Everyone have a great Wednesday!

Carol, so sorry for your back problems. Hope you have a handle on what needs to be done and the pain will go away.

I had two bouts of what I now know was stress related muscle pain around my neck and shoulders. Both times I was down a week or more. All I could do was lay flat on my back. I finally went to the doctor and they told me to take a combo of acetmin/ubupro, as they each approached the pain a different way. Several days of that turned off the cycle of inflamation/pain, and let my body concentrate on healing.

I hope I never have to go through that again. Looking back, I know I was stressed to the gills.

Everyone, take care of your back. DH ended up with compression fractors. The doctor recommended he get a bone scan. Turns out he was very prone to fractures. They put him on one of these meds that strengthens the bones. My point is - get that scan info. before something happens! Know where you are. Compression fractures are very painful and you just have to live through it. There is a procedure we are going to look into where they inject material onto the broken edges of the vertibre which cushions and rebuilds without surgery for compression fractures.

That phrase reminded me of the first Cruzer's to gather for the first ever Cruzer event to Santa Cruz Island.

I was too chicken to go and felt they were the real pioneers to forge ahead on that maiden voyage to Santa Cruz Island...

The rest is history..

Good morning.

I was reading last night about P.S., and all he did in his short life. He has beautiful horses Arabian/Egyptians, which I had never seen before. He was quite the Equestrian, and showed one of his mares under the Princess of Jordon. In other words she was the Judge. She looked very impressed.

Also I got carried away as I always do with horses, and checked out another Stallion which caught my eye. What a looker he was. I will try to post it here. At one point he turned his head to look at his tail, which drug along the ground behind him. Not sure if he was startled by it, or just wanted to make sure it was still there. He was extremely animated as you will see, and his extention's were just lovely. Watch his front legs and you will see what I mean. The crowd went berserk with him in the ring.

Karen love your AM photo post .... <3

Marti - holy cow - I think I need a scorecard to see which car is where and why - glad so far all is getting fixed and not too complicated!

My cold is kicking into high gear - boss is in the city today or otherwise I'd still be at home - may go home early .......I guess if I get all my sickness done now, I should be good for the winter? gary is now avoiding me like the plague and he's probably right .... geez

yes today is update - one good thing for sure! :ok:

spent last couple days working on our caching photos - wow - I'm months behind. that prompted ES (or maybe the other way around) to work on our website and get it updated ---- plus he's working on his NM hike photos trying to pull everyone's together into one presentation and a copy for everyone --- boy the wonder of digital cameras!

well the VA informs us that my mom may be eligible for housing pension (a little over $1,000 per month) BUT you have to be in the facility before you can apply so you won't know until a couple months AFTER you have moved. geez...... my sis and I are trying to drop a hint now and then with mom to get her used to the idea -- we shall see. looking forward to going home no matter what - get to see my kidsies! (mid 30's - can you still call them that?) :D

ok I'm at work so maybe should do some - will check in later

OH GOSH I FORGOT - where are ya Jill - soooooo what did you think!

I'm glad Jordan won - if it was going to be her or Natalie ...... and Nat had the nerve to stand there and say she didn't lie - stayed true - blah blah - and then when they called her out about the lying! LOL And now she's so proud to be engaged yet when the poor guy was there asking her - she barely acknowledged him!

Go Jordan - and great that Jeff won the other $$ - too bad it wasn't Kevin who got the $50,000 but had that been the case, Jordan wouldn't have been able to get the votes to win - Kevin would have won sooooo just as well I guess!

Sooooooooooooooooo no withdrawal - Survivor is on tomorrow night rofl

Carol, so sorry for your back problems.  Hope you have a handle on what needs to be done and the pain will go away.

Marti,
I will have to try that combination. I have a "bulging " disc that flares up from time to time, usually when I carry something too heavy. I have retrained myself not to carry things with my right arm, but sometimes do so without thinking about it until it's too late. Tylenol, Advil, and Aleve only work minimally to ease this pain. Only Vicodin works, which I can't take during the day, due to w**k and driving. So, I'm willing to give something else a try.
