Good going Marlow/flybymar. All thumbs up. You'll be posting for us to see any day now!!!I am so furious today I could spit nails. They turned off my electricity. I was astonished when the SCE guy appeared at my door. All my payments have been posted to my old account. (not me this time, them!!) I do everything on line and I never caught this fact until last month. I thought it was all straightened out....updated....whatever!!! Now they are making me pay a deposit and reconnect fee. I'm writing a letter to ask them to waive these fees. FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!! Ok maybe a little my fault for not looking at the bills but I never look at them. So much for the few pennies I found yesterday. Wiped that out before I ever got it!! |

Hiker a smoothie is the one thing I really really wanted when I was "down and out" and that's what Peppermint brought me. Well, her loving smile and companionship too. Hope Regan could appreciate as much as I did. I'm certain you took a lot of mojo with you also. I'd be thrilled to visit her too if she is up to it. That face down thing is trickey. Don't know what I could have done without my little board Paul made me. It is upmost necessity to be face down too. Tons of

Loved the Sea Gulls snitching the Ice Cream. Some of the expressions on the men & women are priceless. When Lisa was little I took her to the Jersey Shore, and she was hungry so I bought her a Hot Dog. Well she was waving it around in the air, and you guessed it, the Gull got it! She was not happy with that birdie at all. Regan I hope this surgery did the trick, and your vision will be returned to you. That's why Doctors have a Practice. See they are always learning on us! Sending positive, healing thoughts and prayers your way today & every day.

Hmm this sounds fishy to me. Who told you that you had to post a deposit? Was it just a lackey customer service rep or somebody who had authority? Here PECO/EXELON will impose a deposit if a customer has a history of being behind or who has been shut off for "non payment". It seems to me that you should not have been shut off for non payment as you had paid what you owed them only they failed to credit it to the proper account. (dont tell them you didnt update your online information and play dumb and say you thought the account numbers just transferred along with the customer) Some will even charge such things as "late fees" atop the outstanding balance so i would examine your utility bill to make sure there are none added to your bill given they had your money owed them on time and you have copies of the transfers from your account statements to prove it. This sounds like a tactic used by companies who are hard up for cash and just want the extra money to make money for them instead of you, Interesting movie trivia too. There was a california state senator who took on the utility companies when the serious power problems hit several years ago by the name of Senator Steven J Peace who i think was from the San Diego region of the state. Well...given govenors regan and schwartzie and of course mayor clint he too was an actor who was the hero in the film "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" |

Thanks George for the advice. Yes, when the rep said I owed I said how do I get this waived. She came back on the line and said I asked the supervisor and there is nothing we can do about it. Then I said how do I appeal this? Guess not many people think to ask that cause she put me or hold again for a little longer this time. My philosophy is "the answer is always no unless you ask".....so I'm asking. |

That has been the fluff news story here since it happend! The little girl said she dropped the ball but....it sure looked like she threw it to me. The father looked to me to be a perfect gentleman too when he hugged the little girl. He was very well spoken when interviewed here on our local tv station news. I have just a hunch however. I suspect this little girl has had it imprinted on her that one doesnt keep things that dont belong to you and she was just returning the ball to who it belonged to. While I am a male and have been going to baseball games since i was only knee high, the one thing I always wanted was to get a foul or home run ball hit to me in the stands. However that never happened to me until two years ago. The whole event of my getting the ball is rather amusing to me in that I wasnt really paying attention to where the foul ball was hit to. I was viewing the batters box through my camera's viewfinder taking shots. I hear some folks behind me moving about and thought nothing about it UNTIL I see a baseball roll and bounce down from behind my seat and roll out from under it into my camera back pack which i had open. My getting the ball was just plain ole good luck. I wasnt even trying to harvest it. I have it with several of my more cherished momentos of baseball here on one of my shelves. The Seat from Connie Mack stadium that my grandfather and father harvested for me when we all attended the last game there on October 1, 1970 along with my ticket stub from that game and teh speical program and certificate given to fans, the program and ticket stub for the first game at Veterans Stadium that replaced connie mack in south philadelphia, the 1980 world series tickets with the program when they won their first world series , and the baseball. , I was telling my father that I had gotten a seat for the game against the Washington Nationals 2 weeks from tonight and told him that this will be the latest game in the regular season i have been too since he took me to the last game at Connie Mack for the final game there in 1970 Sorry to be so retrospective but it is astounding how some dates can really bring back memories of even the most obscure events. Every time october comes i think about the night connie mack stadium had the final game. (the mayhem after that game ended is a story unto itself with what folks were able to "liberate" from there. Such as the row of urinals from one of the mens rooms and the 5 guys carrying out the heavy concession stove right out the gate. Remember this sort of thing really sticks in the mind of a 10yr old boy ) |

Oh boy were my bats putting on a shot tonight - they were all over the park tonight (there are usually only a couple, but there were maybe 5 or 6 that I saw tonight). They were really doing some Top Gun maneuvers too - one did an awesome dive and barrel roll. Several times I saw two of the bats come together with one right behind the other and one almost dived at the other and then they both broke away and went off in different directions. And I heard them vocalize! I've never heard them make a sound before but each time they did this I heard a brief squeak. I wish I knew what species this was to see what this behaviour might have been. |

Is there such a thing as an infra-red camera lens Ian ? ![]() Guess that would be too white an image if you could get one though....how about a little bat video It sure makes those bat :clk:'s all the more impressive doesn't it !!! The Canada Geese are honking their way home to Oak Hammock Marsh flying low overhead right now. We are going to make a trip out there before they all start heading south for the winter. They congregate by the hundreds to feed and rest every evening before leaving on their migration each fall. Good place to take
