Isn't that something about the snow geese. Amazing! Can you image how loud they are??? Squaw Creek is an hour and a half from KC, and I've been thinking about visiting there. Usually 100-200 bald eagles arrive there each winter. I would love to go and see them. :soar: |

Cat, here in Colo we have both American and Lesser Goldfinches - greenbacked and blackbacked! I enjoy watching them get the seeds from the sunflowers and the mullien. George, they are too difficult for me to photograph. 1/2 sec before the shutter opens, they've flown. Frustrating! |

Asparky you live in my birth city. But I think the stork got lost cause we were in Los Angeles two weeks after I was born. I went to visit my friend in Lincoln and we drove down to KC. I wanted to see where I was born etc. It sure is a pretty town. I went to Kansas while I was there and found my parents marriage certificate. It is so pretty in places and devistatingly sad in others. I guess that's in most cities tho. But it was a fun rewarding and interesting trip. You thought about how loud they were and I thought about how much poo they would be spreading along the way and at the site that they come and go to. I can see where that would degredade any area. Momkat that is such great news about Laurie's arm. Good for her getting an attorney. I hope she has checked out this attorney's reputation. Some are way better than others. Grandma sounds close to being one of the oldest people in California. That's some trip you are planning. I'm certain Grandma will be thrilled to see you. Carole Koenig was the best dog ever. She just loved us all. But don't mess with his family man. And he was my screener for men and friends in my life. He knew much better than I when someone was not up to par. And they were the ones that were afraid of him  One time I was headed to San Francisco to visit some friends. I stopped for gas. That was back when the attendant still pumped your gas. He walked up to the car and Koenig came from the back seat and bite thru the padding and into the metal door frame. Big huge teeth marks in the door. Funny people would see that and give me a wide birth!!!I sure never worried about the kids on a walk with him. |

Jean I was just talking to a friend of mine that lives in Porter Lake, Colorado. She got all excited on the phone cause she saw a black squirel. I had never heard of them before. Their fur looks like a mink coat soft and black as night. Do you see them a lot? |

Karen - Your patio area looks beautiful with the new cushions and added decorations. Have fun at the baby shower. Sandie - We have tons of black squirrels up here. We also have gray ones and the little red ones who are the most aggressive and chase away the big black and grey ones when I put peanuts outside for them. |

HaPpy New Year to those celebrating. Karen your patio looks just lovely. Sandie that video was adorable. I thought for sure the dog would be a female, but was very suprised to see it's a male, loving the peeps like that. Both that dog and the cat sure got a LOT of pecking, and seemed to rather enjoy it too!. |

I agree 100% Russell has to go on Survivor. To do what he is doing to other humans, dumping out their water, and burning socks is not out whiting, out playing, or out lasting his Tribe-mates. I don't know everyone's names yet, but the female Police Officer/Marines Rambo is wise to him. Shame she didn't say anything. Hopefully he'll be voted out before he does something dangerous, and someone gets hurt. |

Sandie, never seen a black squirrel here. I'll have to get out a map to check the location of Porter Lake, never heard of it. I have seen just about every inch of the state! Karen!! Your patio looks terrific, very inviting and relaxing. Great job! |

it was on way longer than 19, GL started as a radio soap opera they said on teh news today in 1937 or there abouts and migrated to tv in the early days of TV too The Guiness Book of World Records lists it as the longest running TV Drama show From wikipedia a brief history of GL and the origins of the shows title: Guiding Light (known as The Guiding Light prior to 1975, or simply GL) was an Emmy award-winning American television program credited by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the longest-running soap opera in production and the longest running drama in television and radio history.[1] It is also among the longest running broadcast programs of any kind (72 years), across both radio and then television media, in history, being first broadcast five days after President Franklin D Roosevelt's second inauguration. It aired on radio from January 25, 1937 to June 29, 1956 and debuted on CBS Television on June 30, 1952, where it would remain a staple of that network's daytime schedule until September 18, 2009. The Guiding Light was created by soap writer Irna Phillips, and began as an NBC Radio serial on January 25, 1937. In 1947 the show moved to CBS radio,[4] before starting on television on June 30, 1952, on CBS television. The show's title refers to a lamp in the study of Reverend Dr. John Ruthledge, a major character when The Guiding Light debuted in 1937, that family and residents could see as a sign for them to find help when needed. |
