Laurie for ray-ray Bette - don't you know I think your signature says it for all of us Earthquake Hurricane eegads Hey Peetie - I'll be in OH next weekend and will see Norman then! the postal dude (several months ago if you will recall) tried to leave a 10" box in a 4" opening and the wind that day, caught the door and slammed it against the house breaking a tile and ripping the arms out of the frame plus bending them terribly. well we finally went today to see about getting estimates to get the door fixed, replaced and of course they'll have to strip all the molding off, etc. - so I think we're going to pay for a new inside door since they have take everything out and since Post Office is paying for all the rest. We'll see in a week or so.

I'll play later. Back to real w**k. I have to log off to reboot the computer. SANDIE - 8:36AM, right off the Mesa in Santa Barbara, which is why I felt it, as I was still home. It was only a 2.1. Now the USGS website says "5 mi SW of downtown Santa Barbara" (which makes it in the Channel) so probably not felt very far from here. |

I hope there isnt any risk of a Tsunami being so close to the ocean for those of you near the epicenter. I guess dont that due to the low richter scale reading you dont have to worry With the geologic activity in the Golden State, are Tidal waves a concern? I know that the area around Seattle Washington has evacuation routes posted foen rthem but the i have not heard of any in California. Sorry for my ignorance, but here we dont normally have to worry about geologic activity and the precautions one must take before and after things shake. When my cousin and her husband migrated to the west coast and lived in Ontario,Ca., they were in a trailer. There were some safety measures they had to do for quakes She told me that when things shook, everyone had a routine with the trailer home itself and the connections for the propane gas used inside them. She was amazed how everyone would work together too after they secured their homes to help the seniors there secure their homes since many were not as mobile and able to bend to do what was needed. She and her family now however have moved farther up into the hills to a community called Rancho Cucamonga (sp?) which i think isnt too far from the San Bernardino County line and national forrest . One of these days i would not mind going west to see the sights with the first being Eagleland on SC and Catalina of course

Here's the second moose picture, taken at Trudeau Institute: Again, not my picture - I snagged it from the newspaper ![]() The third sighting was way on the other side of town, by Lake Colby, which I drive everyday. So now I'll be watching the sky for eagles and the roadways for moosies and deerssss. I think I need a hover craft or something. . |

CatM I am way behind this year. Normally everything is wrapped and in Ga. at this time. So when I arrive I clean, decorate, and Christmas Eve Joan and I pull an all nighter wrapping her gift's, Tagging, and putting Bows on. I thought this way would be easier, but she goes hog wild at Christmas as I do. Last year Maria and I were putting the tree up a few days before Christmas. A good thing, it was an Artificial one we never used fresh out of the box. Parts were broken so we sent it back to QVC, and they replaced it. Normally we wait till Christmas Eve, and Maria, and I do the tree. Maria will set it up, and I'll take it from there decorating it. Christmas Eve I will stack the gift's all around the tree. Last year they were waist high, and took over 1/2 the living room which is HUGE! I stacked some on the harth so we had some room to walk into the kitchen. Then I went to Maria's, and helped her with her tree. Much harder since she still buys the fresh cut ones. She puts the lights on since I am Allergic to the trees. I do the balls and tinsel. Then I had to help her with her wrapping, as she's not too good at that. She did the tags, and we stuck on the bows. This year I am hoping I can get Lisa to join us once again in the South for the Holidays. Tommy will be up here again with his Dad. She always waits to celebrate Christmas for when he gets home. She promised us she would come South every other year, but we haven't seen that yet! I know Maria misses her. |
